          Exactly.

The way I see it send the dominator to him and have him do a rough fit.

Send it to CA FFL for DROS. Wait 10 days; for now.

After you have it send it back; sit back and relax while Troy works his magic.

          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

OP, I am well known here as not being a 1911 guy. That however looks like a work of art and I would love to have that. I admire craftsmanship and quality. That just reeks of it. So nice......

He will work on any 1911. Once you have legal possession of a firearm you can send it to have work done without having to worry about re-DROS'ing it

thank you so much, it was exactly what I wanted out of a custom 1911.
I've drooled over many guns in my life and like most people I have one that seems to get the saliva going more than others.. that would be the 1911. I had a vision of what I wanted and no one large company seems to do everything I wanted. Once I decided to go custom it was a search around to find "the guy".

There are lots of custom gun smiths but Troy's attention to detail, relative unknown status (i have a feeling that will be changing ) and personable demeanor sealed the deal for me.

I told you this already but that is a gorgeous 1911.
Been hearing about this build for a long time so I'm excited to see the finished product and that it's finally in your possession. Definitely seems to have been worth the wait and $$.

Next time I'm up in NorCal, we're taking this out to the range.

Picked her up today from Metal Dog Tactical, great shop for those in the area!

Took out the barrel and fixed magazine and she' ready to go for this weekend.

I plan on putting a hundred or so rounds through her and then a loving tear down and clean

Troy has already asked me to call him next week to report back on how she runs.... how's that for customer service?

Test firing Matt's pistol a second session just before bluing it.

Not sure how to embed the video below. I could only figure out how to post a link.

                                Time for the range report!

First, thank you Troy for the video! She looks good even without bluing!

Went to Reeds Gun Range last night. Was stuck doing work stuff late friday and all day Saturday.

Took Troy's 1911 out with my Colt 1911 for some side by side comparisons and because any excuse to shoot 1911 is good enough for me

The trigger has the cleanest break of any gun I've ever shot. With most 1911's there is the normal take up, a bit of creep, a spot you can feel it starting to break and then the break. Even my colt, which has had trigger work done, has this. It's not a bad trigger and it's fun to shoot but it's just something that's there. With Troy's trigger there is the take up and then your finger get's to around 4.5 pounds and ... crack. It actually caught me by surprise and the picture below shows result.

I was shooting at 10 yards and my first shot was low and to the left. A few more shots and I got more comfortable with the trigger and had a nice grouping for that round.

I had zero FTF's or FTE's and I ran about 250 round through her. I shot a mixture of winchester, Blazer, Ammoman reloads, LAX reloads, and some Hornady hollow points.

At the end of the night I ran one target out to 25 yards and here was the grouping from that:

This gun is a blast to shoot, doesn't seem picky about ammo, is easy to hold and just looks nice.

Almost forgot to mention about the sights! Troy installed 10-8 sights per my request and I could not be more pleased with them. They are modular and completely adjustable. These are not competition sights and would not be the easiest to use in low light situations but since i'm not planning on using this as a home defense gun that wasn't a factor. They look good on the gun and work amazing. Very easy to acquire your sight picture and a breeze to reacquire.

If you're in the market for a fully custom 1911 or just some work down on your existing gun, I would urge you to give Troy a call, you wont regret it.
