I have over 20k rounds down range with three different handguns, two of them duty weapons, with a tlr3 attached.Nutnfancy does like the TLR3. But reviews seem to indicate that they break easily with a lot of nylon features. Lighter, but not as sturdy.
I want to train and practice with the light installed as that is the way I would use it in my home at night. Does the fact that the TLR's protrude past the muzzle of the Glock 19 render them worthless after a few thousand rounds?
Have some tlr3's broke? sure. Mine works just fine, better than the x300's that other guys at my department have on their guns...

I've been using the TLR 1 for about 5 years now. The battery life is good and the controls are easy to operate. The people why had it fall off their gun probably didn't have the screw tightened down enough or at all. Mine has never fallen off from shooting. Its just as reliable as the more expensive lights. I also have a TLR 3 on my ar15. It works fine on there. I got it for my wife's pistol but it wouldn't fit in the holster I got for her. I ended up just getting her a TLR 1 and moving the other light to my rifle."Suck on my machine gun" (Ted Nugent)

I have TLR-1s on both my duty weapons and a 1911. I wear a 19 in plain clothes. The top of the light is scorched but it functions fine 3 years and thousands of rounds later.
I've seen plenty of lights fall off while being shot. In every case it was due to the schmuck not tightening the screw. I've never had the screw loosen up after marathon shooting sessions on a 9mm or .45.

I've never mounted it on my 19 and it's probably more than you want to spend, but if you are interested in a laser/light combo I've got a Viridian C5L that looks like it would fit a 19 perfectly. I think it's only 100 lumens but it's enough to light your target and in a stressful situation the laser will make sure you are on target even if you can't get a good sight picture.

I don't understand how you could have a hard time operating the x300 especially with the DG switch. Proper grip naturally activates the light with pressure.I have a X300 Ultra (500 lumens) and an InForce APL (200 lumens) right now. If you do a search, you'll see some pics I posted up. I also currently have on order a TLR-1s (300 lumen model), but have used a TLR-1s 160 lumen model on a G19.
IMO, the X300 is the hardest to operate (even with the DG-11 switch) but looks the best on the gun. The finish is also the most durable so you can wipe away any muzzle blast without having it mar the finish. On the TLR-1 lights, the finish is not as good so powder blast from the muzzle will mar and fade the finish. This happend with my G19 after 200 rounds (I also posted pics of this up in the past). The TLR lights are very easy to operate, even the strobe feature.
The Inforce APL is much shorter so it shouldn't get much residue on it like the TLR lights, but I haven't tested it to see how well it'll do with shooting hundreds of rounds through it (TLR and Surefire I trust). Still, it's pretty bright, about the same as the TLR-1s 160 lumen but with a wider spill. It's a little smaller & lighter since it only uses 1 CR123 battery. The 'paddle' buttons make for easy operation, although I wish the momentary On would take less pressure. Still, much easier to operate than the X300 lights IMO.
There are other lights out there, but that is what I've used so far on my handguns. Its not paranoid.....its prepared.

People take Nutnfancy seriously? LOLMy opinions are my own and do not represent the position of other companies I may be involved with.Comment

I like the TLR-3 and have two of them. However, one of mine broke--the stationary side of the mounting jaw snapped off when I was doing clearance drills with snap caps. The light was basically brand new and had been used for less than 100 rounds live fire. I know one other person who had a TLR-3 break at the same place. So I do not entirely trust them.Comment
