    Here

I was planning to get one on Friday, so if it's on sale, I'll be a very happy camper Hell even at the current price is $40 cheaper then every gun shop in San Diego. They all want $560, tuners regular price is $520.

Will Turner's ship to my FFL? At that price I might want to pick up an extra.

start running on thursday. I'm still in debate of the 45 and 40. I can swap barrels in the 40 or use the conversion $$ to get a reloading press for the 45.

If your choosing between the 40 and 45, id stick with the .40 (you can get another barrel to do 9mm if you get the 40sw) 45acp belongs in a thompson or 1911 :-)

In one evil mind I should get the biggest cal I can get but won't be able to shoot AS often as a smaller cal. So in the economical mind, I can get the 40 shoot it a lil more and swap the barrel to shoot the cheaper 9 when the wallet gets tight and also have the GF shoot if she wants.

All XD's are the same price from Tuners, $499 for blk XD9 and XD40. And $ 519 for a Bitone XD9 or XD40 or blk XD45 (non sale price). Plus i never shot a 45 before. So that is another factor for me. I rented the Glock 23 and 19 a couple of weeks ago at the range. Shot 100-150 rounds in both. Friends clicked off a few mags while I shot their guns.

                            a. once you live in california, you never move.

                            b. Why would anyone (excluding glock fanatics) want a .45 that is not a HK USP or 1911?

                              A. I love the way that an XD feels in my hands. It is extremely comfortable. A USP grip just feels to big and boxy in comparison.

                              B. The cost of an XD compared to a 1911 or USP is very enticing.I cannot see paying 300-500 dollars more for something that will not do the job requiried of it any better than an XD.

I think all the newer 2006 XD's have a newer coating and new style rail/frame.

If you look at the new XD-45, youll notice it has two slots on the accessory rail; while the older XD Service/Tactical has one slot. Now when you look on Springfield's XD catalog (pdf), you'll notice ALL the new Service/Tactical XD's have two slots (except the green models).

Also, I notice my friends new XD-40 Tactical looked much better then my friends older style XD-40's, Service and Tactical - but it couldve just been oiled up or something...
