I called Reeds on saturday about the XD 45. acp....they sold out the same day they got em in..Damn!!!! Asked when the next shipment will be in..said they don't know. Anyone else see this pistol at any other gun shop? I'm really thinking of picking one up.

Same here, I went to Markleys in Watsonville and they have been trying to get one in since they were listed with no luck. I am going to wait a year any way since I am going to move to Oregon because on average handguns are cheaper than in Kalifornia.

Well... I don't control UPS (clearly, since I've been sitting around waiting for my Upper for 3days and am irritated as all ****) and I also don't know your location... But ASC in San Diego will have a shipment of 10 XD-45 ACPs in, expected tomorrow, but possibly later in the week. They've had a number of people express interest, but none are "spoken-for" per se, it's first come first serve when they're in stock.

If you are in the SF bay area, Irvington Arms had one when I was there.

I just don't understand all this hubub about the XD45 ACP. There are a number of light pistols out there that shoot 45 ACP. We can't have the high cap mags anyway so whats the big deal?

There is a (slight) possibility that one might move to a free state.

You have to shoot one and you will know why the xd is so wanted ,not to mention the nice price.

I have a XD40 and although its nice I just don't see why people are running around the state for it in 45 when glock has been around for years and normal cap mags are around and legal to own if you had them before the ban.

Maybe its just not my cup of tea

The glocks dont feel good in my hands. The XD's feel more natural but hey its just me.

If any of you are going to move out of state, I would hold off and buy the HS2000 in .45 ACP, after-all it is the same firearm, without the Springfield name, and much cheaper.

45ACP is new manufacturing, is it possible to buy under HS2000 name? Isn't this proprietory under SA name?

According to Combat Handgun. Great article , I recommend the magazine as a whole. http://www.combathandguns.com/

In the XD article , the writer finishes the article with this quote ...

"In closing, we are diehard 1911 afficianados and carry a Springfield MC Operator 1911 when on duty as reserve officer with the local police department. However , Springfield's new XD is the first polymer framed high capacity pistol we have tested, that is sufficiently impressive (enough) to make us consider changing from our tried and true M1911 for duty carry. That's how good we believe it is!"
