There is a mod to the GSG 1911-22 magazines that bumps them from 10- to 14.

That might be ok in Colorado, but in CA, that's manufacturing a high capacity magazine which is a felony.

If you want to use a 22LR for defense go with CCI Velocitors a 40gr hollow point which expands from short barrels, in 22 magnum I would go with Hornady 45gr hollow points if you can find any youtube has some interesting videos on these rounds
