How many of you think stippling is another word for effing up a perfectly good gun?

No that's more like the guys who put the ext mag release, slide release, crayola crayon their slide markings and add slip on grips with a Tac light
This is more like adding a working suspension and sport tire package. Again I'm assuming most of you havnt actually fired a stopped Glock to know the difference in grip the agressive added texture makes.Comment

This is what separates the people who actually use their guns vs. those who go shoot 50 rds and then detail strip and clean the gun then at with it at home.
There is no factory gun that doesn't need improvement in the trigger. grip and sightsSofa King Tactical!Comment

Ya, melting polymer frames is not my thing..... although occasionally you see one that looks decent.Comment

This.
Granted similar "fixes" can be done using grip tapes and other means, but if you know you are holding on to a gun forever, why not make it fit you better?
I hate to say it, calguns seems to be about 95% people who care more what their guns look like then how it functions. ARFCOM is right at 99%, so I guess we aren't doing to bad.Sandstorm Custom Rifle Slings : Custom Paracord slings

^^ This. I have a EDC G-23, that I had shortened to use 27 magazines. When altered the big G on the grip was 1/2 cut off, so stippling was the way to go make it look better, but over time I have grown to appreciate the added grip. I have had sweat running out the end of the slide, no issues with grip. I have only stippled this pistol, but it has become by far, my favorite carry piece. Ya know what they say.."different strokes". It works for me, that's all that matters. Besides, I didn't buy a Glock for "looks"......This.

Stippling's not my cuppa tea, so I don't do it to my guns. If my gun needs more grip, I put on some grip tape or a rubber overmold or some 100% reversible solution. I know that no gun I own will ever stay mine forever, because some day I'm going to die and then my sons are going to inherit.
But other guys want to stipple their guns that's their business. It's their property. Not my business to tell 'em they can't.

I actually am a "leave it stock" person, but I think stipling is one of the few very practical things to do to a polymer gun. We don't have heat but I shoot in the rain a lot and that thing gets slippery! If I wasn't scared of totally ruining my gun I would stipple it.Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.Comment

Stippling is ugly but I never intended it to look good. My m&ps get some stippling to add more texture for those times my gun gets slippery during rapid fire combined with sweat and/or dirt.I provide opinions...
