Well, since most stippling gets done on Glocks, I would say "no."

Looks good with the Crayola roll marks...
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

And scared of even scratching their guns. How many people ask which holster doesn't wear the finish?

30k+ psi explosions happen on the inside but make sure your ring doesn't scratch the finish.

Form over function? That seems to be a similar argument with the folks who are against featureless AR builds, "it looks ugly." I don't particularly like very aggressive texture, but whatever floats your boat. People are concerned about "resale value", I would never be able to sell any modern type firearm even close to market value. When I bring one home from the shop, I throw it on the ground, and kick it across the driveway(at least that's what it looks like I did). But I would never donk up a collector type firearm.

I personally think this looks good. But again it's not done for appearance in most cases.

I shoot in excess of 100 degree temps, rain, and snow. Stippling a realatively cheap gun that doesn't really look good to begin with and gain some performance is worth it to me.

I personally don't care for the looks of stippling, but it helps some folks hold on to their gun better and they like how it looks and makes their gun more personalized.

I do have one concern about stippling, and that is some areas of the grip are rather thin and you are thinning them out further by perforating the surface. I've never heard of a stippled gun breaking, but melting little dots into them certainly doesn't make them stronger.

Yes, and the sad part is that stippling doesn't improve the grip anywhere near the rubber QwikGrip....

It's a lot like the ugly seat on my motorcycle. I can't see it when I'm riding and that's the only time my seat matters to me.
Same thing with stippling. I can't see it when I'm shooting and that's when my gun matters the most.
"Function over Fashion" is a good rule, with cars, motorcycles tools and even guns.

For Hi-Power's, because the grips are very thin, checkering the grips, if a mistake is made, can't be fixed. As a result, majority of smith tends to do stippling, especailly the ones with serial numbers on the front strap.

nothing wrong with stippling. if you don't like it, don't do it.
Stippled, pimpled, plastic guns are usually ugly tools. But the HP is a nice looking pistol.
