I don't get the whole stippling thing?? Help me out on this please... To me it seems like someone got bored and decided to permanently eff up their firearm!

Well, with my M&P's I stipple the (removeable) back strap and add grip tape to the front strap for added grip, nothing that can't be replaced. I'm too scared to do the actual frame and, yes, eff it up.

I think it really depends. Some guns that are totally custommized look good with it. With that said, I don't plan on ever doing it to one of my guns. It's like when someone paints one wall in their house bright red as an accent. You say hmmm that looks interesting but would never do it to your own house.

Guess you do not shoot your guns outside in the heat. When your hands sweat Glocks can get slippery. I use grip tape instead of stippling. Nothing wrong with stippling though. Look at the Gen 4 Glock that ADDED more texture for grip.

Factory made texture looks, well, factory. Stippling looks like it does not belong on the gun.

I get the whole sweat thing, I use gloves.

Its for people that use their guns.

LOL... You're right... I don't shoot in the heat much... Grip tape I understand but melting dots all over your firearm is a bit much... The added texture "By Glock" on the Gen4 is great and resembles nothing like the extensive raping some of these poor GLOCKS are enduring from the radio shack soldering iron...

Looks terrible 98% of the time. I've never had an issue with palm sweat though, as my hands are naturally very dry. Put some grip tape on there if anything, at least that doesn't permanently change your weapon.

Even though any of my toys are "keepers," I have no intention to do a permanent mod like that. Although I don't understand why anyone would do it, I can see the aesthetics. I am sure it is practical to some minor degree. Just not for me. One small slip = bye bye grip/gun.

I've seen a couple of tastefully done pistols---the other 98% were bad to awful...
Oddly, I've never had too much difficulty holding on to my guns in pretty much all conditions.

+1. I have seen maybe 2 or 3 well done jobs but most are crap and when I see them for consignment at my LGS I cringe and keep moving.

If factory done its okay. If done by a calgunner it looks like a babies soiled diaper. Friends don't let friends stimple
