Kimber, Sig Sauer & certain Springfields are priced around $1k give or take couple of $100-200.

I tried a fellow Calgunner's Kimber Custom II... pretty darn good for the price.

I wouldn't spend less than the $800-900 or so to pick up a Sig 1911 XO or a Kimber Custom II (those are pre-panic prices though). Then, if you were me, you'd end up spending another coupla hundred dollars for the mandatory night sights and installation. Oh, and don't forget the 'mags and the 'ammo; the true expense in any gun is in the 'mags and the 'ammo, as it's relatively expensive and you will always be buying those things...

I don't always save the world, but when I do, it's in 24 hours or less...

I've been told that SA will still honor the warranty even tho its not supposed to be transferrable. I have yet to put that to the test tho (I hope I won't have to).

What area are you located in? I've been seeing some Springfield 1911's starting show up at the local gun stores in my area. $999 for a SA 1911 Loaded full size in blue at Guns Direct Burbank just a few days ago. Gun World in Burbank has pretty much the whole line but roughly MSRP. Smokin' Barrel in Simi has a bunch too, not sure on prices though.

I'm in Long beach area, I saw soon at island view I'm Ventura but they were high, I have to check at ammo bros there a little over on prices too, true deal would be turners having one in stock as they are always low and I can put 30% and have month too come up w rest of money

That wait would kill me! At least you have a Springer to keep you occupied until then. What did you order? What options?

Turner's will never admit to it, and I don't recommend it, but I've seen people stretch their layaways to 8 months...

Any quality 1911 should alleviate the itch.

                          +1.

Get the 1911 that suits you. Different Hands, Different Taste.

As long as the 1911 is made/assembled in the USA, you are GTG.

Can't go wrong with a Colt 1911... I mean it's a Colt the original 1911. Well, not that specific 1911. But just the original company that made 1911s.

                                Congrats.... That itch will return.
