    1911 itch

Yes I have it bad, I got my Ar out the way and picked up a Springfield 1911 S/S target loaded w wood grips, yes I feel in love!
Impulse maybe but heck that's quality right there
    I don't like RIA rollmarks,colts are $$$$ and kimbers not familiar w
So can someone convince me to spend 9-1100 dollars
And honestly before the effin hype and buying everything high what did these babies usually go for, do they retain value?
    Mil spec? Target? Trp?
Yes I'm new so don't wanna overdue it or eff up on first buy
    Thanks for help guys

I got the same itch for 1911s as what you got.

Again, same boat as you are in... not sure what TRPs and such were going for before the panic...

All I know is that the only thing preventing me from buying more 1911s is... money!! ... Oh and that stupid "roster"

The grips on my MC are 10-8 black G-10 grips.

Are you talking about the FCS or the front strap checkering?? The MC Operator does not come with the checkering on the front strap. You can send back to the custom shop and they will provide that service to you if you want.

I noticed that the MC Operator with G10 grips didn't have front serrations once your replaced the wraparound Pechmeyr factory grips... Wondered if there were any noticable difference in grip.

I do not notice much difference. I have 1911's with both and have never had an issue.

Good to know. Been wondering if I do change my grips if there would be a noticable difference.

                    Thanx!!!

you can't go wrong with a springfield 1911... or a colt... or a kimber. even a RIA

I did my research before getting into 1911s and it seemed that the kimber custom II was my best bet. It's like the cheapest "high grade" or highest "mid grade" 1911.

Sure a wilson combat, les baer, or ed brown will feel way way better than my kimber but a 1911 is a 1911.

I opted to get a 1911 with a full length guide rod and high beaver tail safety. i put night sights on it and i'm very satisfied with it.

45ACP is costly. i'd spend more money on ammo than the pistol itself IMO

Springfield 1911's are tough to beat. The Loaded model is an excellent piece with a great set of features at a great price. Springfield's awesome guaranty/warranty and customer service are near legendary status.

Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the addiction!
