How often do u clean your Glock

How often do u clean your Glock? I shot my glock 17 last weekend (100rds) and took it apart, it looked clean????

I know, I know

I know they are supposed to be the AK47 of the pistol world, and according to that thinking you don't need to clean it often. But I clean my weapons after every shooting trip. It is a habit I can't break.

I was given my first 22 lever action rifle on my 11th birthday, and was taught safety, responsibility, and maintenance before I was allowed to take it out by myself. After I learned those things, I roamed the country side around my house on my own every time I had a couple of dollars for bullets. One of the things taught to me was to clean it after every use, and I just can't sleep unless I do.

Now the Glock probably doesn't need it, but it is so easy to clean that it just doesn't take long to do it. Probably takes longer to break out and then put away the cleaning kit, Q-tips and rags, than to actually clean the Glock itself.

If I'm shooting rounds with lead bullets I at the very least just scrub out the barrel after that range trip and call it good. Otherwise I'll usually clean my Glocks after every third trip or so.

I clean my weapons after every range trip wether it be 10 rounds fired or 1000 rounds fired.

I just picked up my first Glock yesterday. Yes Im a 1911 guy but im neutral when it comes to guns I just like them all. I choose to have both. Can you really clean your glock that way?
Do you take it apart or just open the slide?
What are your steps?

Not very often.depends on the rounds fired and how dirty the gun is.

My range Glocks get cleaned less often maybe 500-1000 rounds. My carry glock gets cleaned after almost every use. Occasionally I'll only shoot 2 mags thru my carry gun and I'll skip cleaning till the next time.

After every range trip... It is a glock but one day my life may depend on it. Ill take the time to make sure its clean and properly lubricated.

I thought they didn't need to be cleaned, and were stored in mud
