    Price check on these? $500-$550?
Yes, they are $500 at the Glockstore and and Parallax Tactical last time I checked. Some stores charge around $550.

And yes, I would get the G19 if I could only have one. The G26 is just not that fun to shoot a ton through at the range IMO.

    EDIT
Just saw you want a 4th gen. Those will be a little more expensive due to SSE.

    I prefer the 3rd Gens.

I'm gonna feel out the 3rd versus 4th gen. I'll save money if theres nothing I care about in the changes.

Now to find them in stock.....

Same here, back in early 1990s, 2nd gen, worked flawlessly, perfect size, back then it carried 15rds, only thing I didn't like was the 12lb DA only trigger, it was simple no external safeties, and like the no hammer, very clean durable design, the slide finish is strong mine after 23 years still looked new but I never holstered though. I traded it for a Sig P229 which for me worked better and now own 5 Sigs.

Like I said before, Glock 26 is easier to CC, but not fun to shoot at all. I use 23 for my HD, range gun and sometimes CC as well.

A GLOCK is a great choice for a first handgun.
Realiable, easy maintenance and simple functionality.
The G19 is a great choice too. I don't know why, but I seem to shoot my G19 better than any of my other Glocks.

As for accessories, The Glock Store and Glockmeister are two good suppliers.

If youre thinking ccw in the future at all then i say 26. With the pierce extension its awesome. I know you said you dont want to get into calibers but if you are considering a subcompact id go .40 at least. G27 is a *****in pistol. I have one with a fulcrum trigger, trijicon night sights and some stainless add ons. G27 is the same as the 26 just in. 40

I considered that too. .40 will be my next handgun, but I am gonna make that a full sized and will take over home defense from the sub compact.

That is awhole other topic not for today though. =P

I'd go 19 because that's what I did. 26 is too small. 19 is pretty much just as good as 26 for ccw. Not a lot different in barrel length, which I feel is most important for carry.

Alright I am working with my local store who I love to get a Glock 19 3rd Gen and if possible a 26. If they can only get a 19 I'll take it, but I'd wanna feel out a 26 still.

Now for the fun stuff....I need to get a CCW in San Joaquin County.....wish me luck, ill need it.

Do you have a home defense gun? If not I would pick one up that is more efficient for that and then worry about your conceal carry later..that is unless you don't already have your license. I'm sure some guns can fill both roles but I would rather have one for each and have them be more efficient in their roles instead of having one that is OK for both.

G19. Perfect Size. If your going to practice/shoot it a lot, 9mm is the way to go.

Wife is disabled, part of her therapy is to go on walks where I am usually supporting her and she is obviously very weak. I'm also not in the best position to defend us at that point.

I also have a home business on the side and transport packages and take checks around town two or three days a week.

Even if it has limitations, I'll take it. San Joaquin is tough from what I hear.

Oh, and of course to exercise my 2A Rights.
