Palmetto state armory had some 5.56, 9mm and .45ACP the other day, at prices I didn't see as being too inflated. I was only able to afford a few boxes of each. Yes, they we were gone by the middle of the day, but they had it in stock. At my local Wal*Mart they had dozens of boxes of .45ACP and 9mm; sure, they were gone the next day but at least the 'ammo was there and in what I believed to be a decent quantity-the prices were right IMO, @ .40 cents a round for .45ACP and about .25 cents a round for 9mm.

I will say that all of this was BEFORE Feinstein took another giant s**t all over us on Thursday. AFAIK everything is up in the air again...

We may be able to beat the Federal bans, but I wouldn't put it past the state to adopt all provisions. Just like when the Federal ban expired and California kept it. But now that the Dem's have revealed their true agenda, it will drive demand for the forseeable future. Because out of fear the public will understandably expect the ban wagon to appear again soon. And their buying will reflect that fear.

I suspect prices will remain high for years to come.

        Pmags at riflegear,
        556/under .50 cents
        Wolf back to 4.99/20
        30 rounders at copes...

Ya all the panic buyers over spent, and all the above recent examples and more demonstrate that many recent purchases were based on emotion.
Recent panic buyers now not buying as much along with those already prepped, meanwhile manufacturing catches up, prices drop as orders slow-supply increases.

I was at Turners in Chino Hills yesterday and it was picked clean. Not much in ammo, and very few handguns to chose from. There was mostly bolt action rifles and shotguns in the guncase. I passed by the Rancho store two weeks ago, pretty much the same story.

I will have take a look at the Covina store next time I'm in the area.

I was at the range the other day and a random person from 3 stalls away offered me 1200 for my gen 4 glock. I was floored. Just a stock FDE glock 19. People are desperate.

primers are not to be found anywhere local.

I am lucky to just have happened to buy a few 1000 of each of the primers I use, I have maybe 3-5 lbs of powder and I have a huge stockpile of brass

I can still find powder that will work even though it may not be my first preference.

12 gauge target and hunting ammo is plentiful but slugs and buck are hard to come by.

I was lucky to buy a lot in november and december, a shotgun, the above said glock, primers and powder. But I am currently on my second week of my wait for the order of projectiles I ordered. To me this is my marker for the panic buy, when next day shipping is a reality again.
I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.

Must be. .223 on the WTS is down to $.60 a round...

One guy will even throw in a free stripped lower with ammo purchase!

Proforce in Brea emailed me back a few days ago and said they still had Glock 26's in stock (didn't ask about anything else). GlockStore in San Diego still had glocks in their case last week too...had 6 Glock 21's in stock.

Lol... I have been using my ammo and gun money to purchase clothes instead.
Can't find ammo and guns I want so I bought some 5.11 pants and shorts.

There was good reason for the ill prepared and underarmed to panic before the Marxist in office laid out his plans for disarmament. Now, not so much, since those same panic buyers think that the House will be able to stop the march of the Statists toward their American Evolution toward a progessive-Marxist utopia.

Students of Marxism and statism know different, and understand the concept of two steps forward, one step back.

I think there is more to worry about than going shooting. pay attention to what the government is doing to us.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.

was in turners reseda over the weekend. they had some lowers just in and plenty of buyers lined up. gun shelves pretty empty. mostly a few .44 revolvers and several 1911 types, and some .22's. racks were barren of anything remotely bannable, but plenty of bolt rifles and shotguns. ammo was the same, if you needed .270 or .40S&W you were fine.

I can see why all those people rushed out to buy lowers. probably most were thinking they'd resell in some time. since the lower is the only important piece, so to speak. I'd bet less than half those bought get built, at least by their original buyers. especially once they see what it takes to build a decent AR. both skill and money.

are there things I'd like to purchase? yeah, but nothing that's immediately threatened. I'd like to get a .357 revolver and lever rifle, .243 bolt, .22 revolver, another 10/22. right now I need to stock up components to make sure I can reload/shoot what I've got.

I give it another couple of months. but the worst is behind us. once reality sets in. in fact, I'd bet that it'll become really, really cheap in a year to build an AR.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

I think it is simmering down a little. Not alot but just a little. Give it another year and things will be good. By that time most people already got what they were after and people started second guessing that 3k basic AR. The only thing I'm really worried about is if gun stuff goes the way of gas, "if people will buy it anyways, the why lower the prices?"

Only thing that gets under my skin is the price gouge on ammo and people hoarding it.

no ammo, no ebrs.... prices through the roof...... i honestly think we are in the dark ages for a couple more months..... then i hope people that bought stuff sell out of need for money..... but thats in a perfect world....

The music stopped and I was left with out a Sub2000...I think I might have to trade two AR's for one Sub2000 now.
Things are a lot more like they used to be than they are now...

I don't think most of Feinstein's crap will pass, except for maybe universal background checks and possibly high capacity mag bans. What worries me is what legislation is going to sail through in CA due to the supermajority. Will Yee get his way?
