As soon as someone realize, they need to pay their mortgage.

Oil is traded in US dollars. We are not suddenly using more oil than we were this time last year. The supply & demand argument doesn't apply. The big shots decide the price.

Ammo is sacred these days because people are afraid. I bought a recurve bow to play while I'm waiting for the invasion or the revolution which ever comes first!

You don't think that there are more cars in places like china and india than there were last year? Oil demand around the world is on a constant climb.

Remember, they use oil for industrial applications as well - like making steel. All that construction in china for instance. Huge demand spikes.

Even stockpilers will use up their stash eventually and have to pay current market prices. Ammo manufacturers will continue to run full speed to meet market demand. High prices may increase demand for quality budget ammo producers, etc. Bottom line: don't worry.

I'm sure there's plenty of business mined people who will look at the increased potential profits to be made on ammo and join the industry, therefore increasing supply. I'm not worried at all.

I dont know what walmart you are going to, but every walmart I have been to in San Diego I have still bought ammo at the prices I was before all this madness.

The issue with walmart is the stores here that I have been too have a store policy of 3 boxes only. Not of each caliber, of any. Then you have to catch walmart on a day that they get a shipment in. Basically get lucky.

On the upside I just bought 200 rounds of 9mm and 100 rounds of 45 for 82$. Which is what I was paying before this gun and ammo craze.

I just wish I could find .22 ammo.

At least a few items has gone up 1-2 bucks from what I've seen (Federal value packs). Not a whole lot, but there have been increases.

Just wait for the states 5 cent tax per round. What will that do to 22 prices?

9mm was $11/50, then it shot up to something nuts like $20/50, then it will "come down" to $15/50 and we'll be happy for it.

Actually, I applaud the 3 box max. The reason for this panic is guys (probably guys who don't even shoot on a regular basis!) are going into stores and buying ALL of the ammo, leaving everyone else with nothing so when those guys see ANY ammo, they buy all of it. With the 3 box max, at least there is a better chance for EVERYONE to get at least a box or 3 of what they want. I wish every place put a limit on their ammo purchases.
