Will ammo prices return to normal?

Ah, the big million dollar question.

I have 45ACP to last me the next 2.5 months, but I'm wondering if by then the high prices become the norm. Or, if prices will drop.

Seems like this new panic is a beast of a different sort, so hopefully we aren't in for a long term screwing.

Shooting turned into a rich mans sport.
When I go to the range and see people
shoot AR-15's, I say they must be ballin.

It will all depend on what happens in the next few weeks/months regarding legislation. If anything comes down the pipe (and passes) about ammo restrictions, then expect the prices to stick around.

My prediction was mid to late Feb. before we see price drop. Will they get back to where they were? I wish I knew.

I could be totally wrong but one thing I believe is helping fuel the panic is the fact that you recently had 2 holidays, Christmas & New Years, fall mid week. Add to that some businesses take 1/2 day off the day before and all of a sudden we have lost 3 days of production and shipping.

+1 on this. People are buying up guns and ammo like crazy right now as we don't know what's around the corner. If nothing serious comes of all this then they I'd bet prices will come back down but for now demand is so high that shops can pretty much charge what they want and people will pay it. If I had to guess I'd say no major ammo restrictions will come to pass and prices will go down a bit. Just my $0.02

I was at wallmart (only go there for ammo) and they were raising there prices on all ammo .location Los banos. So I think higher prices r here to stay for a while. Mybe one year .

They didn't after the first presidential election of obummer, thats for sure. Seems like they go WAY up, drop back down, but never really go back to the original prices. Almost like the way real estate USED to be.
