Kahr makes great reliable guns and the CW9 is value priced for what your getting. Very accurate, light weight, awesome DAO trigger out of the box. The only 2 downsides are it kicks a bit because it's so light and when talking to a Fire Arms instructor he said that Kahrs run great, was the ideal back up/CCW gun, but he disliked the mags with the polymer mag floor plates. He said several years ago during training several officers dropped their mags onto the concrete floor during mag changes and broke the floor plates. He strongly recommended to only use mags with the stainless floor plates. I've tried to Google search it to see if others have had this problem and only found a couple of instances. Kahr may have changed/updated their polymer blend since I've tried to drop a mag several times without damage.

Kahr CW9 is my EDC. Love it, and trust my life to it! Nuff said!

It is an issue, which isn't an issue.

All my regular carry guns have plastic baseplates and I'm very comfortable with them. Just think about it for a moment:
          1. They only break when dropped on cement
          2. If they break during practice; you'd replace them
          3. If they broke while you were using them defensively; if would only be after you ejected them and they'd be useless to you anyway

What you get in return for this possible breakage is:
          1. More to hold onto when pulling them from a carrier
          2. More reliable seating of the mag in the gun
          2.

Great gun, took me a little while to get used to the trigger, but overall a simple system that has never given me any trouble.

Have two CW9s (wife and I)---they work 100%---shoot to point of aim---smooth, light DAO trigger---slim and lightweight---all good! Really haven't dropped the mags on concrete floor---or any other floor...

Trigger took some getting used to for me; does not have a typical reset point; but like it well enough that I'm adding it to my CCW this renewal cycle.

9mmepiphany, I just bought a CW9. How many rounds have you run thru yours? I plan to run at least 1,000 rounds before I add it to my permit.

I have about 1500 through mine.

I ran 500 round through it with the only issue being when I forgot to use the slide stop a couple of times during the first 200. By 400 rounds, I could usually handrack the slide to chamber the first round.

At about 500 rounds, I had the action cleaned up a bit and the rear edge of the MIM slide stop lever beveled

i don't think i could ever get rid of my cw9. thought about it a couple times. even tried carrying a glock 26 for a while but ended up trading it for a 19, which is a great piece but i still end up carrying the cw9 90% of the time. light, comfortable and comforting! i don't even mind the limited capacity any more since it's so accurate...
                        everyone is different tho!

I have a CW9 on my permit that I have put around 300 rounds through it.

Pros: accruate, light, very thin, conceals very well with a T-shirt,

Cons: low round count, long trigger pull ( although it is very consistent smooth pull).

To be completly honist, I don't carry it very much. I believe that you should pratice with what you carry, and I just would rather shoot other pistols of mine. But on the flip side if the CW9 is all that I could carry I would stake my life on it.

I have one and my wife grew fond of it; she has one in jail right now. Its a very reliable and very simple pistol to use. That is one of the reasons why my wife likes it so much. Only things I can say negative about it are:
                            1. Trigger reset is spongy, but consistent
                            2. Right out of the box, the pistols are really tight. It takes some firing to get them broken in.
                            3. No night sights.

Other than that, I love it.

Anybody carry one in a pocket holster?
