That's not a bad price because its not like it will wear out. I think I paid $335 shipped for a new one from CZ a year ago with two mags. That was with a discount they were running at the time so don't feel bad about spending an extra $20-30 for something that you want.

Yup, it's accurate and reliable. Very well made.

Mine holds open on the last round on the couple of full size 75b steel frames I tried it on. I've only tried it with the slide stop that comes with the Kadet kit, and it works just fine.

I've taken mine out once. I was getting light strikes in every mag, and the occassional stovepipe.

I've since read that there might be some need for a lighter mainspring, and to use oil on the slide (no grease).

The _ONLY_ problem I've had with mine is light strikes. I have a 13lb mainspring in the gun and keep meaning to put a 15 or 16 in there to fix that. It always feeds, always ejects, never stovepipes, and I can't blame the light strikes on the Kadet kit as the frame has a CGW hammer/trigger kit in it. Mine is a Kadet 2, and it will hold the slide back on the last round. I tried my buddies which is a few years old and it doesn't hold the slide back which was annoying.

Can't you just install the extended firing pin in the Kadet slide? CZ customs and CGW both sells them.

I think you meant heavier mainspring. If you have less than 16lb mainspring, you will experience light strikes. Just switch to the stock mainspring.

Thought I'd chime in about my Kadet Kit experience. Bought new Kadet Kit 2 earlier this year. For the first 200-300 rounds I was getting stove pipes frequently. The stove pipes were starting to be less frequent about that time.

I was using Remington Thunderbolts, and at about the 300-400 rnd count, I was getting flyers all over the target. I pulled the target into 7 yards, and saw I was getting key holing/tumbling bullets. Took the kit home and went to clean it, and the cleaning rod got stuck in the barrel. Long story short, I had a ton of lead in the barrel. I do use a brush when cleaning after every range trip. This time it took a couple of hours with a new, oversized brass brush to get all the lead out. I switched to Mini Mags, and ever since, no lead build up, ftf, nor fte. Perfect.....well almost.

So a few weeks ago, at about the 4k rnd count, I go to clean the gun and notice the pin that holds the barrel in place had sheared off, and the barrel had walked itself out backwards. This a appears to be a problem that affects some KK owners. I got a couple of free barrel roll pins from CZUSA, and all appears to be working after another 2k rounds. The next time I have to deal with the pin, I'll cut it a bit longer and flare the ends, as it tends to try to "walk" out.

All of this said, It's super accurate, and at a shooting league last night the RO came over to ask what I was shooting because he'd noticed it was a 22 and I never had FTF's, or any kind of jams.

Also, the FTE in the beginning appears to be common as the extractor needs to break in a bit.

Got the kit. Shot it Sunday. Incredible! I had to do a tiny bit of filing, and though I really have no respect for my workmanship normally, this was incredibly easy.

My trigger has already been worked over, so this already accurate upper shoots really well. I'm in the midst of trying several brands of ammo with it, but I'm pretty happy.

Update: So I've had it out three times so far. It's pretty damned great. I'm not a great off-hand (one-handed) shooter by any means, but I did get a nice five-inch or so group at 25 yards. That's without having tried that for around two years. I might just go back out for pistol league, you know? I've had maybe three rounds not extract properly out of twenty to thirty mags.

Congrats OP. I believe Off-hand means two hands unsupported (not on a benchrest), not one handed or as it's also confused, weak-handed.

I'm not sure of all of the technical terms... I haven't been shooting as long as most folks here...

Benched-- Gun on the bench.
Off Hand-- Standing, one handed.

Anything else, we just call shooting.

When it comes to rifle, there's off-hand (standing), kneeling, sitting, and prone... then benched.

When we shoot rimfire pistol league, we shoot standing, one-handed, at 50 yards.

You can buy more mags for $40 each. All are CA legal.

Interestingly enough, the mags seen to be regular centerfire bodies with an insert.
