I also have a 6" in blue and of all my revolvers it is the one I love to shoot the most. The balance in my hand is perfect and it is quick to get back on target.

Great price for a great gun.

Okay the jealous thing just moved onto mindless rage. That's just taunting us python-less people. :-)

The really sad part is that I'm still waiting to pick up a new Smith from jail and I just spent the last 30 minutes looking for a CA legal python on gunbroker. You people suck. Maybe my wife won't notice another couple of grand missing from the savings account and a new gun in the safe.

So how are you people finding pythons in CA anyways, just luck?

            Locating Pythons

Call around the local gunshops, they occasionally take in consignment guns from gun owners. Oaktree gun range in Newhall is a good source for hard to find firearms, I have purchased several consignment "off roster" guns from them, including pythons. Bain & Davis in san gabriel had a beautiful 6" blued python on consignment a few months back.

Presentation wood grips with Colt Rampant horse logo medallion (no finger grooves) can be expensive. I have a 6" blue with Colt wood grips, Pacmayr
presentation and gripper(finger grooved) rubber grips. My Nickel 6" Python came with Colt medallioned presentation rubber grips.
Gun broker is a good start to look for factory grips
Still looking for a Diamondback 4" myself.

              Congrats!!

See if he has the original grips; they're about a $300 deduct from the value of your Python without them. Obviously the original box would add value also so check on that too.
i have a friend who has a 72 brushed nickel 4", he over values it, wants $2500, w/o box. i told him he wouldn't stand a chance of selling it

Very nice price and gun, that is a hell of a deal you got. I mean that is a horrible gun, but since I am such a great guy, I will take it off your hands for free...
