Don't forget to watch for used deals...

I picked up a 5.5" bull barrel ruger 22/45 for $275 a few years ago.
The deals are out there if you watch for them.

      ISSC M22 .22LR

ISSC M22 shoots and feels like a Glock; very dependable gun.

Ruger SR22 is good also. I have both, like the ISSC a little bit better.

If you want the .22 to practice in order to shoot the Glock better, get the Advantage Arms, no question. Like mine a lot.

If you want just a stand alone .22, I've heard tons of great things about the SR22.
I have a Sig Mosquito. It's fun but awful finicky about what it will throw,

Get a Ruger Mark II or do what I did with my 3rd Gen Glock:

And FYI, it won't work on Gen4s:

My 1970-ish Buck Mark was flawless until I tried to clean it...then it started having occasional FTEs. Since I don't have a lot of confidence in my gunsmithing abilities, I decided to sell it rather than deal with a $50 gunsmith bill. I'm sure someone with skills will pick up the gun, clean it properly, and enjoy it immensely.

Anyway, my original point was that my Browning was flawless for close to 40 years for me, and the prior owner....without cleaning!!

I seen a sig mosquito, walther pp22. among some others. Long story short we were all having malfunctions like crazy. Mine was failing to strip rounds off the mag. I believe the sig was only able to cycle CCI ammo and the walther was was having all of the above. I have about 800 rounds in my sr22 and had never seen it malfunction that many times. At least 1 time per mag... We called it the malfunction line instead of the fireing line just to laugh it off.

I still reccomend a sr22p over the sig and walther but i like the M&P obove all. Have you considered a ruger MKIII? Those are probably the best .22lr handguns ever.
Hahaha did you go to the Firing Line in Clovis? I'll have to look into the Ruger MK III. They look awesome, and every now and then I see someone shooting one at the range.

M&P .22. Rapid and slow fire a mix of cheap bulk 800+ rounds of cheap ammo (blazer, thunderbolt, federal) and 375 rounds of minimax. Not one jam. Fantastic and accurate. I love it and trust it. Never felt like that about any other .22 pistol. All this without any cleaning and shot all that in 2 range trips

I have an ISSC M22, it's a Glock look-alike, albeit hammer fired and SAO. It's very accurate and so much fun to shoot.

The only advantage (as mentioned) would be training with your Glock sight radius & feel. Minus the Recoil. I`m 5 mins from the Glock store, & visit regularly, they won`t mis-lead me. Highly recommend those Guys!!!

eh .. no more or less problems than most other 22 semi autos. I have one for my G27 and friend has one for her G23 and both run fine as long as you stick with the recommended CCI Mini Mags or equivalent.

I have two Ruger SR22Ps. Neither has ever once jammed and I have put thousands of rounds through them. New users of the SR22P can have problems if they are not careful loading the magazines. Because they are staggered you have to make sure when loading the magazines that the rounds are positioned correctly. In my experience most reports of jams derive from this, and thus are not true jams.

The Ruger Mark III (or Mark I/II) regardless of which variant is a terrific pistols. These suckers just never jam and are very, very accurate.

Right now I am looking for a Ruger Single Nine for 22 WMR but they are sold out after the Friday following the election.

I would agree. Most .22's out there are not up to par.
