Great .22 for the range?

Yeah I could just get a .22 for about $300-$400 right? I'd rather do that, and have 2 guns in the process. What would be the benefit of doing the conversion kit?

I'm thinking:

More miles on the Glock
Roughly the same price
Hassle with having to switch it back and forth all the time
Not having 2 guns in case I needed mine for defense and the lady wanted to have hers as well

Ya similar costs give or take. The only benefit to the conversion kit is training on your Glock with less expensive ammo. Granted it wouldn't be the same as training w/ 9mm but most of the fundamentals would cross over (slide operation, grip, trigger feel, etc.).

The Ruger sr22p has been recommended by quite a few and looks pretty nice. I 'll definitely have to look into those.

So i was at the range on Sunday. I took my sr22p out with a friend and my nephue. We are at the rimfire line and there was others with their .22lr handguns. I seen a sig mosquito, walther pp22. among some others. Long story short we were all having malfunctions like crazy. Mine was failing to strip rounds off the mag. I believe the sig was only able to cycle CCI ammo and the walther was was having all of the above. I have about 800 rounds in my sr22 and had never seen it malfunction that many times. At least 1 time per mag... We called it the malfunction line instead of the fireing line just to laugh it off.

I still reccomend a sr22p over the sig and walther but i like the M&P obove all. Have you considered a ruger MKIII? Those are probably the best .22lr handguns ever.

With a G19, an M22 is a good choice to get the muscle memory as it is a .22lr clone.

There is a guy who I bought mine from charges $275 shipped for the kit. Already comes with a mag. Changing over is easier than you think. Takes a minute, anyway way less time than you fixing your Glock last night.

For me it was worth it as I get to train with my SD/duty pistol. Only real difference is weight/lack of recoil.
