    Springfield Armory XD 45

    Hello,

I live in Kansas right now but go to California once a year or so. I recently purchased a Springfield Armory XD45 here in Kansas which took all of 15 minutes. I was amazed that it was so easy to buy a handgun here, they did a background check and once that was done I had my handgun and ammunition all at once. I noticed on the case after I purchased it that there was a sticker that said it is not legal in California. I have 13 round magazines and I know those are illegal. I will purchase 10 round magazines for the pistol when I go to California but I don't want to get arrested if the weapon is illegal. I know I have to do something to draw attention to myself and that never happens but I also don't want to lose my career over something like that if I did get stopped or whatever.

here is a pdf file with the info on the pistol:

thanks for the help with this in advance!

That sticker is referring to that particular model number not being on the CADOJ list to be sold as new. It's functionally identical to my XD45 that I bought here.

i own (well, technically i own it but i cant touch it for another 4 days since its in jail...F'ck california) a XD .45
10 round mags and you are good to go. in case you arent familiar with CA gun laws, when transporting your XD in your vehicle, there are very strict rules...so look into it.
If you suck with irons you will suck with optics. The difference is the aimpoint will allow you to suck faster and a scope will give you a closer look at how much you suck.
AR's have finally become full blown "men's barbie dolls" now with fashion accessories.

Thanks for your help with this!!! I was worried I owuldn't be able to have it out there when I go out there next summer. I will be sure to look into the transport laws when I come out there. I have a hard case and I will lock it up and make sure I am good to go with transporting it out there.

You will have to register the pistol when you move to cali, you are good to go with 10 round mags. You can either block your 13 rnd mags to 10 rnds, or just disassemble them and you will be fine
