I think it's more of an adverting agreement, rather than price fixing. Stores can sell them for a buck if they want to.
That's why on some Turners ad, it state too low to advertise sometimes.

I dunno, my guess is it de-values their product if a new item sells for way below msrp.

Haven't seen a chain store ad go under those prices since ~2010, think that was when Glock threw the smack down.

Its something called Minimum Advertised Price or MAP pricing. In retail you're not allowed to sell under the map price unless you want to lose your account. It makes it so the markets fair and one company cant undercut another just by selling it cheaper.

I'm currently researching RPM for my thesis. It's a mixed bag on pro/anticompetitive effects, and an interesting debate. I would have considered researching gun laws and gun related econometrics, but in a liberal arts school, I figured that might draw unwanted attention.

LEO Pricing is also known as "Blue Label" and a standard GLOCK is $398. This is a marketing tactic that GLOCK uses to increase the use of GLOCK pistols by LE angencies. Retail pricing is a $100 or so higher than the LE pricing.

Lol. I purchased my first handgun -- Glock 19 -- from Turner's a few years ago during a non-sales event. I paid something ridiculous like $750 OTD, maybe even $800... I was really mad I did not know about Calguns or Ammo Bros after I realized I had my manhood taken by some overweight slob Turner's WC employee. Damn, I was an idiot.

Hmmm... I'm trying to decide at the moment between the Glock 19 and XD 9 (or maybe M&P 9) for my first HD pistol. I'm not going to make the decision based on a sale, but assuming I prefer the Glock when I rent/shoot all 3 at a local range, what's a good place to take advantage of this sale in Sacramento? The OP makes it sound as though this is a sale that Glock promotes itself, not just random outlets (like Turner's, which we don't have up here). I've never heard of GOG... is it cheaper to use than Gunbroker since there is no additional transfer fee?

G19s are $499 any day / every day. Try Sac Black Rifle or Cordova Shooting Center. That's the standard price in both stores.

Say what you want about Turners, these Glocktober deals were awesome. Most places that have been mentioned as alternatives charge an additional 3% for credit card purchases. That combined with the convenience of having a Turners in town puts the pricing back in their favor.

Discount Shooting Supplies in Roseville has Glock 26 in stock under 500 bucks i remember.

i bought my Glock 30 for 519+tax. so far the best price i could find
