    Glocktober 2012

I know every fall glock usually has its "glocktober" sale. Turners usually sells them for around $500 and they come with 2 gifts. Last year i believe it was a range bag and hat.

Im in the market for a Glock 26 really bad (i dont find them in the marketplace, everybody must love theirs). When can i expect this to take place, and what other retailers do glocktober specials?

Check on Thursday afternoon to see what the next sale is for Turners. Most likely they'll probably have Glocktober this week or next.

They use the same link each week, and usually update it around Thurs morning or by Thurs afternoon.... sales start the next day - Friday.

Methinks the actual reason is because very few of us are allowed to carry, so the Glock19 is the smallest go-to model that makes sense.

I am intrigued by smaller pistols lately. I had a springfield xd subcompact that i traded for a kimber 1911 and actually really liked it. It was a good shooter, and i liked the size. I also like glock pistols in general. I dont feel intimidated working on them and the parts are cheap and abundantly available.

          I own a glock 31 (service size .357 sig) and a glock 23 (compact .40 s&w) Both have 9mm conversion barrels.

I'm not trying to start an argument here, but it actually be more expensive.

If the price is the same at a LGS or online, then you still have to pay CA sales tax and DROS fees for the gun regardless. However, buying online you'll also have to pay some type of transfer fee as well. Factor that in and you may be paying $50-$75 MORE, and definitely not cheaper... especially now that the CA BOE has come down hard on CA FFL's on collecting CA sales tax on 'new' firearms purchased from another vendor/store.

IIRC, Turner's usually has the Glock 9mm and .40 pistols for around $519 when on sale. There are some places like Ammo Bros often that sell them for $499 but no Glock goodies, so that may be another option to look into.

As others have said it's typically in October, so keep an eye out for their weekly flier. I bought my first GLOCK during one of these events a few years back, and have been buying and shooting GLOCK more and more ever since.

In all honesty though, you can get any of the standard GLOCKs for $425 (+Tax & DROS) with a two year GSSF membership in additions to other benefits like Indoor\Outdoor matches, The GLOCK, report, and other cool things...

Their "sale" price is still more expensive than what I pay for them any time of the year. Just saying.

That's not the way GalleryofGuns.com works. When you buy a gun from galleryofguns.com, you are in effect buying it from your dealers "virtual" stock. There are no extra transfer fees like there are when you have a gun shipped to your dealer (transfer). When you check out you get the total price (including DROS, Tax, and any other fees). You pay about 20% to GOG and then you pay the rest to your dealer. Depending on your dealer you can even start the DROS as soon as you pay online since GOG sends the dealer the S/N.

Usually the on-line price for GOG is cheaper than the in-store price, the FFL doesn't have to carry the inventory costs so its cheaper for everyone.

When I was shopping for my G26, I had trouble finding one. Everyone was out of stock. After 3 weeks of hunting, I finally found a shop that had a dispaly for sale, and bought it. The G26 is one of my favorites to shoot.

Last year Glock/Other Distributors didn't supply Turners with enough stock to have the sale in October. It was moved to November 11th (Veterans Day) and the the usual glocks (26,27,19,23,17,22) were $529.99 and yes it was a range bag and a hat.

I heard Turners gave lube and a reach around last year. It made paying more for something on sale that you can get any time of year still cheaper just a little bit easier.

I wonder if the majority of other gun stores offer it year around for their prices?

Hmmm... I'm trying to decide at the moment between the Glock 19 and XD 9 (or maybe M&P 9) for my first HD pistol. I'm not going to make the decision based on a sale, but assuming I prefer the Glock when I rent/shoot all 3 at a local range, what's a good place to take advantage of this sale in Sacramento? The OP makes it sound as though this is a sale that Glock promotes itself, not just random outlets (like Turner's, which we don't have up here). I've never heard of GOG... is it cheaper to use than Gunbroker since there is no additional transfer fee?
