Got a picture frame gun holder with a revolver ready to go. I also have a shotgun by my bed and other firearms throughout the house Also not to mention that we have tons of close range weapons on the walls like knives, swords ect. in every room.

This really doesn't seem like a good idea that you're relying on that fact.

A great big +1 on this one.

You mean you would actually shoot someone in your house without identifying them as a threat first?

              XDshooter . . . I'm assuming you don't have any kids?

                That is correct, but irrelevant.

It is a parent's job to teach their kids about gun safety. I grew up knowing, as did my other siblings. My dad has always had a bed side gun, but we were taught about guns, brought shooting, and never thought twice about doing something stupid. If we wanted to "play" with guns, we had toys.

Hmmmm - no way, all the guns are locked up and those that are "ready to go" are in the quick open lock boxes. However, I do live in an area with a very low crime rate, adjacent to people with lots of money and about minute and a half average Police response time - if any of the three are to change, I'm sure I'd be rethinking my safety...

I also have a case of sleepwalking - bedside gun would simply be unsafe. I have once opened the lockbox in my sleep, but beeping of the buttons brought me into full consciousness - however, there were strange noises that someone was making outside...

You need an early warning system to make it work...

My dog lets me know if someone is walking by, and we live on a quiet street. Lots of warning for me to pop the magazine in. Cameras and monitor allow me to double check her alert.

HK USP compact locked and loaded.
Then of course the Mossberg is also.
No kids here but if I did id make sure they understood these are NOT toys and would most likely move them to a safer place during the day.
