Guess I'm lucky. I've a USP Elite in .45 ACP and a 30SF.

Being an older design, not being RDS ready, how popular are HK USP pistols today?

The German built HK USP is as good as it gets, unlikely we'll ever see another commercially available pistol built that quality. Could care less about RDS on a pistol.

Yeah the Experts are the perfect USP IMO. I’m used to a Glock 21, so not bulky at all :-)

Agreed, the Expert is the USP to have. I stepped it up and got a MK23 and it really an another step of awesome. It shoots so soft and effortlessly. Not even trying and the thing stacks holes.

I have been eyeing a MK23, but can’t justify the $$$. Maybe one day for me…..

The HK USP is what prompted me to get a HK P2000 ( 9mm ) earlier this year. Great handgun.

The only reason I got rid of my HK USP 40 15+ yrs ago is because it was in .40S&W, and because I got an S&W 1006 in 10mm in trade.

I have the HK USP 45 and the GLOCK 21 SF , I luckily got the HK pre pandemic , it's a very nice quality pistol ,with the FREEDOM WEEK mags

The HK USP is legendary. It's a superlative design when it came out in the 90's giving us a robust, durable and reliable hammer-fired polymer pistol option. This design cemented HK as major player in the polymer pistol market which evolved to newer and modern HK pistols that are popular today.

I'm glad HK still makes the USP and supports them.

Shootable and usable today? Hell yes! If you know what you're doing it will go bang and launch a handful of lead to your target.

Popularity? Maybe not like before but it's still a desirable pistol to collect (add some Rainbow Six and Counter-Strike nostalgia).

Don't forget "Tomb Raider".

Fond of the USPs enough to own 2 USP 9mm, 1 USP 40, 1 USP 45 Elite, and 2 USP 45 Expert. Paddle mag release may need some getting used to, but its faster than the push button and does not require shifting grip to drop the mag (trigger finger). Design flaw or bonus, USP can auto slide release when inserting the full mag at the correct angle.

I replaced the standard mag paddle release with the factory's oversized paddle release. Inexpensive and easy to do yourself.

I'm a long-time owner of three USP pistols---a full-size USP 9mm, a full-size USP 45 and a USPc 9mm with stainless slide. All three are DA/SA and NEVER fail to function and are accurate right out of the box... The 45 pistol is the only pistol I own that I've not shot on paper---why? Because while test firing it after I first got it years ago, it hit everything I aimed at every time! Happy with all three!

For a RDS option Langdon Tactical will mill USP slides.

If anyone thought a Glock is the most dependable pistol out there it's only because they've never owned a USP
