I understand what that's like. I had problems with my 226 when I bought it a few months ago. However, when I got it back from Sig, with the Action Enhancement Package, words can't describe it. I love my Sig.

      I posted this before.....

It SEEMS to me that older , German and West German SIG's are more accurate and have less ( or no ) issues.

It seems to be the case , after watching dozens of officers qualifying 2-3 times a month. For the last 15-20 years.

People said that they love their new sigs . Rails, different custom packages, SRT triggers etc. All I can tell You is that I will take my German P226 or West German P225 anyday over ANYTHING that they make today.
I am talkig about everyday DUTY/OFF DUTY gun .
As a "range toy" I can use anything .

Bad QC. Play the victim and get something free out of it.
"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

Do you mean it isn't accurate any longer or it won't feed rounds from the magazine...or that it just bothers you?

I have an old SIG 228, that was Israeli military surplus, that rattled like a loose bolt in a can...but it still fed and shot fine

+1 That's the reason why i'm having a tough time deciding if i should trade/sell my W. German P226. In my opinion, today's Sig Sauer isn't what it used to be.

Thats a simple maintenance issue. (Changing springs, etc).

Wow, I feel your pain. I can imagine the excitement of bringing home an exciting new purchase, stripping it down and then seeing that. I'm sure Sig will take care of you.

If you shoot your gun parts will break no matter what you think you have in your West German Sig it doesn't matter you still be sent or be buying the same S***** MIM parts Sig puts in their new guns. Their old MIM was fine but as QC changes and companies that make them change to save .02 on a part you have to wonder if it will really hold up the way it should.

Ah christ you all talk like it is the end of the world--pooh happens--it's not like the frame cracked and the slide flew off and hit the bullseye 7 yards away on the first trigger pull. Call Sig tell them what is up and they WILL make it right. It is a $5.00 part after all! You might even find it's a protectant they use--I recall reading a story about a guy who was cleaning a new gun and he ran a patch through the barrel, it came out brown and rusty looking. He flew off the handle and got all pissed, called the manufacture and they told him it's just a rust inhibitor and he could clean it out or shoot it out!
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

Yeah its mother natures protector called oxidation. This is why I will never buy a SIG made after 1996. The older ones even without a rail are better then what is being produced now. They have no pride in their work now.

^^^ Ran it by my Gunsmith/FFL today... It is definitely Rust. Perhaps what concerns me more is the Build Date = 18 days ago.
