SIG has been having quality problems and it seems to have been biting them back. Internet complaints tend to propagate more often, but when experts in the field also confirm that then you know something is not right.
The last I heard was that they are getting some grip on how to deal with quality assurance, but time will tell.Comment

Glock: Can't comment on other than I have seen two blow up. But that can happen to ANY gun.
H&K: Sent to the factory for feeding issues... Sent back with feeding issues and was told it was due to excessive carbon under the extractor..."Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest."~M.Twain~Comment

SIG seem like its made by lazy people with no pride in workmanship. Sad. Hardly ever see quality issues with Glock and ofcourse HK. Are SIG made here in the states? If they are, that's truly sad. I wish we can produce guns that the guys across the sea can be envious of. My Rugers (I love all of them dearly), Remington, and an American M9A1 function flawlessly but leave a lot to be desired when comparing fit and finish with my Glocks and HKs. If the Japanese made modern guns, they'd probably be some of the finest quality out there. Sad that some of our companies lack cohesion and pride. For SIG to charge so much, pretty much price is not an object level like HK, and to let stuff like that pass QC, it's inexcusable. Too many accounts of modern SIG having "issues" for me to want to spend my hard earned cash on them. Especially if it was a HD/duty weapon.Last edited by UserM4; 04-08-2012, 10:08 PM.While we're here arguing about the latest high tech running shoes, there's some Kenyan out there running barefoot. If I did that, I would never own a Glock or H&K as those are the only weapons to have ever failed me.
Sig and XD's have been flawless for me... None of the sigs were W. Germans."Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest."~M.Twain~Comment

Please reread my post. I did not say that I had malfunctions with SIG. And my post says that I did not want to spend my money on SIG as I have seen too many QC issues from a company that sells guns at HK prices. And I too have seen/had issues with Glocks and an HK as I've handled a few over the years. But those were because of modifications. Never had a factory stock gun, actually, none of the guns that I own, have even had 1 malfunction. Ok, I lied, a PM9 mag release spring wore out and it would slightly release the mag upon recoil causing an FTF on the 2nd round. And a couple 9mm USP mag springs wore out and wouldn't lock the slide back. But none of those were something I'd consider QC issues. Personally, I'd love nothing more than a quality P226. But I'm afraid to get a newer one and haven't had the chance to catch up on my To-Buy list to look for a German one.Last edited by UserM4; 04-08-2012, 10:24 PM.While we're here arguing about the latest high tech running shoes, there's some Kenyan out there running barefoot. Sig should run 100% right out of the box. Same with all the other "To hell and back" brands. If any of my Glocks didn't run 100% out of the box it would get fixed, and not "broken in".OCSD Approved CCW Instructor

If you are selling an expensive product claiming that it can withstand extreme salinity and moisture and it turns out that it is rusty from day one is beyond embarassing.Comment
