      Not sure that's the case at all. They're not exactly a "high end" gun when good examples come in at <$1300 and a base model can be found at Turners for $900.

      Ed Brown, Wilson Combat sure, but "can't afford one" for Kimber??

        2500+ rounds in my eclipse custom II, and 0 issues. Mine did come with a reccomended break in procedure, which I beleive was just shooting 500 rounds of 230 grain FMJ. Even so, i never had an issue within that 500 rounds, and as of now it eats all types of ammo.

          I'm sure he meant that not many people want to pay $1,000+ for a hand gun. I'm sure 99% of people can buy one if they REALLY wanted to, but they see the cheaper priced 1911's as a better value and there's nothing wrong with that. In the end for the most part it's all personal preference.
