    Favorite range bag?

I've got 6 handguns which I throw in a cheapo range bag I bought at a gun show, along with the ammo, ear & eye gear, mags, stapler, tape, gloves and everything else. I really hate that bag and curse myself for wasting the money.

So I'm on the hunt for a new one. I surfed Google a bit and found all kinds of answers to what the "best range bag" is, everything from $29 to over $200, but nothing definitive. So now I'm here-- only, I'm not asking for "the best" this time, I want to know what y'all's favorite is. Could be a tool box, duffle, whatever, I'm all ears (um, eyes).

    Thanks.

I wish I could remember the brand (bag is at home) but I searched everywhere for double locking "D" rings on the zippers. I eventually found one at Reed's Gun Range in Santa Clara. (no affiliation just a customer)

Midway has a really nice mid size bag but it didn't have the lockable "D" rings on the zippers for a real lock. The Reed bag has real locking zippers on both sides of the bag on the gun and ammo side of the bag. It also comes with a small soft pistol case. I lock both sides (gun and ammo) just to be safe (if stopped).

If you give them a call they can tell you what brand it is (or I can check tonight). It's the only one they carry and they have a pile of 20 or so.

      Good luck . . .

Wait 'til Midway puts theirs on sale, it is the one to have. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939...tion-range-bag

Looks like it is on sale right now. 538 reviews with a 5 star rating. I have one of each, black and green. I use the black one for the range and the green one has my hunting gear in it. They are really great bags. The only thing I would recommend is cutting a piece of MDF to fit the bottom of it so it has a solid bottom.

I use the compact Midway USA range bag. It's held up very well over numerous shooting trips and is a great bargain. The only downside is that the main compartment and the side pouches aren't lockable.

I've grown away from using anything that looks firearms related.

            Also avoid tool branded bags.

People who think a big Matco or Snap On tool bag is a big deterrent have funny logic. Tweakers and other nasty people love to steal tools.

The midway bag is real nice though and doesn't look overly tactical.

I hate my AR bag. I need something more low key.

Midway Competition bag is just awesome. I've loaded that thing up to 60lbs or more and it held up like a champ. Doesn't even feel like its straining to do so. Gusseted in all the right places, thick heavy duty material, and a TON of storage. It actually comes with a mini bag inside of it along with 2 pistol rugs, a shell holder, a drink holder, and an offset strap so it sits on your shoulder really well when you're full of gear. I can hold 6 pistols pretty comfortably and enough ammo to start a swat team with it. Its just an awesome bag and its only $39 or so right now on www.midwayusa.com

Another pic all closed up. Looks a bit more discreet, but still a gun bag.

i have the midway competition range bag as well. it is huge. it can easy hold your 5 handguns and ammo. i recently used mine, 3 guns, 400 rounds, 4 mags, 4 speed loaders and still had plenty of room to spare.

only down side, the in ability to lock. and the 2 pouches it comes with do not lock either. my fix, purchase some NCStar Range Bag Inserts off of amazon and use those instead of the pouches it came with.

its a good value. to make my more incognito i dyed the white "midway" embroidery black. it came out kind of grey. but looks stealthy and tacti-cool. lol.

i'll post up a pic at lunch.

I also have the Midway bag. It's been almost 5 years & it is still solid.

                        It's normally 79.99 I think.

Midway Competition bag in OD and Locking pistol rugs is what I have.

I fail to see everyone's reason for locking the entire bag.

+1 here for the midway bag.

I just picked up a 5.11 Patrol bag yesterday. Seems okay for now..

                            WTB used AK MFER.

I have the Allen Company Master Tactical Range Bag. It looks Identical to the Midway bag (no Midway logo) but it is double the price. Great bag only downside as other stated is the lack of locks.
