    Seriously? More ammo issues?

Despite my earlier issue with my remington UMC .45 ammo that I had ...which you can see here.

This also happened to me at the range today...I pull out my box of ammo

and start loading my mag and notice that the bullets aren't sitting correctly. I thought maybe I had bent my feed lips but nothing looked out of the ordinary.

So I continue loading the mag but it still doesn't feel right to me. So I stop and take a look at the cartridge and find this...

    Yup...9mm cartridges in a .40 cal box.

I had bought 4 boxes at wal-mart in Milpitas and all of them say .40 on the box but they have 9mm inside...Looks like i'll have to start checking my ammo before i buy it from now on.

The first thing that comes to my mind is an employee that wanted a "deal" on some .40 cal. Put them in a 9mm box and then they are "on sale".

that is something you want to inform walmart. issue could be with their employees as x231 pointed out.

That sucks man I'd raise some hell politely maybe you can get some .40 for 9mm pricing since they won't take it back.

Hey, at least those will shoot, had one of the women at my community college firearms class the other night with a box of Herters 9mm... I kid you not there were at least 8 out of the 50 rounds with no primer.... Made me chuckle to think of some old russian dude asleep at the primer seating station at the end of a long day.

It's not the employees. It's Federal's mistake. Wal-Mart was notified of Federal's issues. I physically saw the memo that they got on the issue.

                  Exactly what I was thinking.

OP if you just bought those they might have more .40 boxes with 9mm at the store. Might want to go back tomorrow and have a manager check it out.

                  Good luck.

Maybe but one other thing that i remember was that when the employee had pulled the boxes down for me...There were 2 larger boxes and 2 smaller boxes.

He noticed and switched out the larger ones for 2 smaller ones to give me all of the same size.

I assumed Federal had changed their packaging so I didn't think about it too much. It might've been a factory issue...but who knows.

i think someone bought some 9mm federal and .45 acp federal and took out the .45 acp and put the 9mm in it and returned it since it's expensive to shoot...

                        No returns on ammo.

Looks like Valegian posted that this is a known problem from Federal.
