I had some .45 reloads I got when I PPT'd a handgun from someone. The ammo came in a box labelled AMMO BROS and I have no reason to think they weren't from anywhere else, but out of 100rds, 3 of them FTFeed'd and when I ejected the rounds, the bullets had been pressed deeper into the casings just like that.
Yellowfin: The 2A in its true intent of what it protects can be summed up in one word: parity. Self defense means self defense from ANYTHING, and parity is being on level playing field with whatever threat may be.

it has nothing to do with the seating die and everything to do with packaging... 5 50round trays per box stacked on top of each other with no support.. the round can get squished whenever the box gets bumped/droped/smushed.. standard 50round boxes ship (20 per case) on their sides.. the UMC 250round boxes ship (5 boxes per case) with the rounds stacked bottom down.. since its up to a person to move/stack/unpack the boxes they do not always get handled gently.. for normal boxes its not an issue.. for the UMC boxes rounds get squished

I say return to brown ells... they will take it back, no question asked. Ask them to cover shipping too.

Wow, I've never even seen that with Wolf. I'm sure Brownells will fix this for you. Good job checking your ammo. It wouldn't be hard to miss something like this and end up shooting it.

My buddy's had some like that today, 2 rounds that were compressed. He gave it to me so I can pull the bullets and reuse the casings.
              The stuff that goes boom.

Call/email their (Remington) customer service. They will send you a shipping envelope. I had 2 9mm rounds that were like this (bullet pushed in). They sent me 50 rounds of nickel plated case ammo. Win!

EDIT: Shoot everything else. I think they want you to send everything, but at the time I had shot everything but those 2 rounds.

I don't buy it. Unless, you can show me that Remington does not crumpled their bullets into place and an entire tray ends up with bullets seated too deep.

Either I've been lucky or have never noticed. Good post. However, I've also never bought UMC yellow box. I'll have to look more closely at my practice-ammo from now on; not sure I would have caught that, as stuff like this I typically buy only for average/practice trips to the range.

I look closely at rounds when they are intended for higher performance, and I've caught deformed stuff with serious issues on "range ammo", but the run of the mill stuff I go through so fast. I don't think I've ever had a problem as serious as your photos with seating depth. Either it's never happened to me, I've gotten lucky, or I didn't notice. But I've never bought UMC yellow box. That could also be a factor.

Usually you would see a staircase effect, sort of like this:

Ya...That's pretty much what I got. It looks like it was dropped on 2 corners of the box and that's where all the crushed ammo came from.

                          Freegan,
That makes more sense. The first picture looked more like three bullets consistantly set too deep and I couldn't understand how packaging could so that. But, now I better understand how it happened and that the first picture is a little misleading.

The only time I've seen that is with soft point .223 with my p-mags. When I would pull the charging handle to load a round it would get caught up and sink the projectile in the casing.
