I own both and perfer the G17 over the 34. The only advantage the 34 has over the 17 is a longer sight radius. They both shoot exactly the same for me. No point in spending the extra $100.00. Just my opnion.

Get the .22 conversion, even less expensive than 9mm, plus you get more practice on the same sized frame

They are called Qwik Grips, started running them with my first carry Glock in 1992. Tacky to the your grip, don't really notice tacking to clothing, from a IWB holster. I have them on my competition Glocks and carry Glocks, so everything feels the same for the grab.

The G34 is marketed as competition because it is the largest Glock that will fit the IDPA and USPSA box. True, you can put the 3.5lb connector, G21 mag release and extended slide stop in a G17 (same frame)

Connector weight does not equal trigger pull weight

I would go with the 17. The longer sight radius isn't a big deal for me personally and would only make the gun more difficult to carry IMHO.

If it's for carry, get the 19; if not, get the 34.

                      Yes.

I love my G34. Compare with G17, it has lighter trigger, extended mag release and side lock. I've shot both and they shot the same to me. But G34 just look better than G17 IMHO. Love the way it looks when attaching a light to the rail and it wont stick out like on the G17.

I have a G19, but after shooting my buddy G17, I like the G17 better.

Yes, in general, but specifically yes if you switch to a G17 or G17L because the frame is all the same size. For a G19, the mid section is the same, but the grip is slightly shorter. thats one advantage of the Glock platform.

I own a g21 and in the same predicament. Buying a entirely new gun to practice with cuz it shoots cheaper ammo makes about as much sense as owning a truck and buying a commuter car to save gas, without selling the truck. As with the gun, using the car analogy, it will take thousands of rounds to break even. Might as well take 600 bucks you were thinking on spending for a new g17/34 and buy 2000 plus rounds of ammo for you 21. But if you want another glock for *****s and giggles then gi for it. I am. Got a line on a brand new g34 gen 3 for 500 buck b4 tax and dros
