This is not really true.. I held one in Illinois and it's a solid and fairly balanced firearm. I did not, however, get to shoot one..

The sad thing is, once you brought it into California, you'd have to send it back out.... to Brazil after it breaks. Are we forgetting that its a Taurus?

The quality of Taurus has gone up considerably in the last couple of years. And if for some reason you do need to get work done they have a lifetime warranty on their firearms and they will do the work free of charge.

I thought taurus added rifling to the barrel so it wouldnt be considered a "SBS" in this state.

I was really down on this gun when it first came out because the .410 part of it is next to worthless. However, I'm told that somebody (Federal?) is now making a HOT new .410 load that'd bring its performance up to snuff.

Personally I thought this was a pretty valid question in a hypothetical sense.

I had just asked the same question a few weeks ago of my buddy and he informed me that it is considered a SBS. Which I didn't consider when I first asked him.

I will be shooting my father's Taurus Judge next week in TX so I will be able to give a layman's evaluation if there is any interest.

No, because it can chamber and fire shotshells.

No, it doesn't make sense to me either.

Also, since it can chamber shotshells, the fact that it has a revolving cylinder (it's a revolver, after all) makes it an AW.

Not from what I understand. I'm not 100% clear on the how and why of this particular law.

I picked up a Taurus 605 that had a bit of rust on the cylider so it was priced right. I contacted Taurus they gave me their FedEx account# and paid for shipping both ways they refinished the cylider free of charge and with a 2 week turnaround time they returned my revolver looking like new.
