    Taurus Judge

If someone bought one out of state and then moved to California would they be able to "import" and then do a PPT?

No because it is considered an sbs, the list has nothing to do with the judge.

Yep, and I also forgot to add that it fires from a revolving cylinder, which is also a no no in California.

If it is of any consolation, it looks to be poorly made anyhow...

Eh, the .410 isn't all that useful unless you're hunting snakes.

Guess Taurus made the mistake as advertising it as a dual purpose gun. You can't have that shotgun shell fired from the revolver, but you can have a shot shell/snake load in you revolver... We have brilliant law makers in this vacuum environment of a state, don't we??

True, but there is a huge difference between .45 Colt shot shells, and .410 caliber shot shells. It is stupid that we can't have one, but I don't understand why so many would want one anyway. The only practical use I can think of is snake defense while hiking.

I read the new write up on it and I didn't think it was poorly made at all. I doubt that's true at all since the cylinder is so long. They would have to beef up the frame for that. It's suppose to be heavier than a 1911 I believe the article mentioned. A .410 000 shell can really put the hurt on an attacker at close range which is what the gun is for. I personally would get the 3" if I lived in America.

                          Lessons learned:
                          1. Jack bought this pistol for snakes and it looks like a fine tool for that job.

                          2. Birdshot, in any gauge, is for little birds.

                          3. Buckshot out of a .410 does not penetrate enough to be an effective personal defense load.

                          4. The rifled slug was also a disappointment and did not have enough weight or power or penetration to be effective as a defense load.

                          5. The .45 Long Colt loads had plenty of penetration and would be the preferred defense load for this pistol.

                          6. It's fun to bust clays with this pistol.

The sad thing is, once you brought it into California, you'd have to send it back out.... to Brazil after it breaks. Are we forgetting that its a Taurus?

Dang! I was just looking at this gun in the latest copy of American Rifleman. It's a total buzzkill knowing that I can't own one here in CA.
