It should...the trigger is supposed to be a little different but the feel should be the same.

Yea the texture is really the only thing comes to mind, I haven't held one yet but it sounds like its more or less the same angle and such. The material on the grip (sorta HK p30 like), looks like the only thing that will make it feel different.

I'd put the money toward one of these except there not rostered and no 10 round mags, I honestly would want HD mags for this and dont want pinned mags to have to run with. Eh a good pistol for when I get out of state I suppose. Love the fact its got a good trigger on this, I dont mind Glocks constant like trigger system at all.

P99 10 rnd mags work for the PPQ. Go OEM... the promag ones are kind of sucky.

He said it just says P99 so what am I looking at? Is this a first gen model? What is a gun like this in "great condition" worth?

They're going for between $400 and $700 on gunbroker...
Pictures would help. Also, proof marks or whatever's etched on the slide.

The P99 QA and AS trigger models are discontinued in favor of the PPQ.

All P99/P990 Models will expire on roster by this time next year...who knows what will get renewed...

The PPQ is not on the roster and will never likely be in its current design.

I brought one in on an exemption and love it!

"Worth" is subjective. Given "great condition" - $500-600 (though anything that is not an AS trigger would probably be less).

I love my P99, I looked all over Southern CA and could not find a local shop that sold it or one that could order it. I had to order mine from www.waltherpistols.com and get it transfered to Ammo Brothers in Cerritos. It was only $75.00 to transfer it last year, so it wasn't too bad, but now I hear they charge $100.00 plus tax, so I don't know if I would do it again, probably would look for a use one.

Me an my luck the gun that they "had" sold right before I walked in to purchase it. Needless to say I think I am either going to have to look for a completely different gun or start hunting all over again.

The AS trigger is not being discontinued, just the QA because the PPQ is an updated version.

Hold out for a P99, I have a first gen and love it. Double Action trigger pull is ridiculously long and heavy IMHO, but since I nearly never use it, I haven't lost sleep over it. This new PPQ has caught my attention though. Maybe next year if I find a good deal since I just picked up an RIA 1911.
