    Help me choose a Glock

I want to buy a Glock as a gift for myself, but have put off the purchase for weeks due to my inability to decide. Please help me!

Here's what I've narrowed it down to and why.

Glock 26 - Small package and uses 10 round flush magazines. Thank you CA legislators

Glock 27 - I'm issued a Glock 22 for work so I could carry the 27 with 15 rounders for backup

Glock 19 - Because everyone says so. The wasted space in the magazine bugs me though

Glock 23 - Same reason for the 19 and 27

Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not considering the slight difference in ammo costs 9MM VS .40, I would go with the GLOCK 27

        Several reasons:

        1. You already have a full size Glock 22 in .40 and yes, the ability to pop those mags in the G27 is a great option. Plus you're already used to shooting .40

        2. The GLOCK 19 and 23 are the midsize Glocks with the same frame. Both are great weapons, but for future concealed carry, the sub-compact Glocks (26 and 27) rock.

        3. The Glock 27 can accept Glock 23 mags (in 10 or 13 rounds) with a spacer sleeve available from Glockstore.com.

This really gives you a good grip in a small package.

        4. If you desire, you can buy a 9MM conversion kit for the G27. Some do, some don't. Personally, if you want to run with a 9, buy a Glock 19 or 26.

        5. On my Glock 27 I did buy a .357 SIG barrel and since the .357 SIG is the same exact diameter as .40, I can use the same Glock magazines. This swap runs 100 percent. I think the bottle-neck of the Sig Cartridge helps feeding considerably. I bought my SIG barrel off a fellow Cal Gunner; it sticks out a bit but I like it. I use my pre-ban Glock 23, 13 round magazines on her.

I like my GLOCK 27 so much I use it for transport in my locked secure carry bag. Lately with the .357 SIG set up. A small, accurate and powerful weapon.

May the Bridges I burn light the way.

I agree with Bob, but don't let the 10 round limit deter you from a G19. If you're a cop then you can get hi cap mags for any guns.

I assume you are because you said that you are issued a 22 with 15 round mags???

Out of those I think your best bet is the 27. Its the same mag and caliber of your duty so when you take it out to practice you can use your hi-cap mags.

The 26 is a little smaller but it is a 9mm and another thought is the M&P 9c. Ive carried both and they are easy to carry and the 9mm's allow you to have 12+1.

19, the wasted space might bug you, but you might move to a freestate one day. Besides, sub-compacts are way more fun too shoot.

23 for primary ccw. 27 for secondary ccw.

For concealing the obvious selection is the easiest to hide, and since you already have .40 mags and ammo go with the 27. I would have bought that gun but it was too wide for my body type and clothing. I went with a PM40 instead because its smaller and thinner. One day i'll probably sell or trade it for a G27.

I saw a 27 for the reasons bob listed. If you can afford the .357 sig conversion and ammo, do this for sure.

However, if you want a 9mm, I'd probably just go with a 19/26 and skip the 27 with conversion barrel. If you want 9mm just to practice, then I think the conversion from .40 to 9 would be fine, but even then I would still prefer a dedicated gun for the caliber. JMHO

The 26 has the same outer size as the 27, it's not any smaller.

I vote for the 27 also, not just because I have one and love it, but because of the common magazines and cartridge as your duty weapon. Also, I've always thought the sub-compact Glocks had a lesser recoil impulse than their full size counterparts.

                              19. 19's are NOT difficult to conceal, and are probably the perfect concealment gun.

Unless you're one of those people who want to eat their cake and have it and don't want to make minimal to zero changes to their wardrobe to carry something much better than a subcompact size gun.
