In a vacuum I'd recommend an M&P9. If you like your Glock 19, why not a Glock 26? It can use the same mags, same holsters, and would be an easy transition from your Glock 19.

the G26 is a great stablemate to the G19; they both have function and purpose that overlap and compliment each other, yet... either can stand alone.

The G26 and XD9 both fit the bill. Excellent choices. I favor the XD9 personally. The HK P2000sk is also a fine weapon but well over your budget. If you consider the HK and you are medium sized build and like the full size grip; I'd recommend you to get the HK P2000 full size, it's slighly lighter than the P2000sk and not even half an inch longer.

You could also look at the Beretta px4 storm in full size of sub compact. I haven't had too many rounds down range with this gun but I liked it when I shot it.

Thanks all- I think I will take a long look at the CZ-75. The G26 does have it's merits in regards to using the G19 gear. Will have to see how it fits my hand with the mag extension.

I really like the price of the CW9 and it gets some good reviews.

A Kahr CW9 is a great way to go---I also endorse the HK P2000 9mm (definitely one of my favorite pistols), but a little more pricey---still you won't regret it! Have fun with this.

Check out the Ruger LC9 or the SR9, even the P95. You will even have money left over for a holster and maybe some bullets. Also, those guns come with a ca approved lock so you dont have to buy one of those either upon pickup.

I bought my first Ruger about a month ago. It is a nice piece! I do not think anyone would dissagree.

I just bought my XD9. I was looking at a Glock and M&P as well, but I didn't like the feel of the Glock and when I shot them I felt like the XD9 was the one for me. In fact, I just went to shoot it, and ended up walking out having bought one. Love it!

For the price a XD9. Turners usually has the basic package (XD9 2 mags, case, and lock) for $400. personally i havent seen anything to beat it yet for the price.

Don't rule out the M&P 9c . A little bit bigger than the G26 and it is one sweet shooter!

Agreed. But if you don't care about that, the S&W 3913/3914 are also nice.
