Ummm, why are you doing that to an expensive firearm? Seriously, not funny or cute. Crap like this gives firearm owners a bad name and reputation- doing stupid stuff with dangerous equipment.

          Am I missing something here?

Probably won't have any rust issues, but unless those grips are some sort of composite material, you may see some issues there with warping/swelling/splitting.

Those look like G10 grips to me.

Cool thread. Let me know if anything happens to it.

Just some info. Stainless will rust if given the right condition, and the demonstrations you just showed us are about just right. Keep in mind that your stainless gun have parts that aren't made with stainless.

That said, I would like to know how long you'll keep it in that state and what which parts will develop corrosion or tarnishing. I'm treating this like a show on Discovery Channel. Cheers!

Ramen with a Kimber Stainless topping. Yummy.

I'll be following this thread, I hear of some complaints of Kimbers having rust while being NIB! My used TLE/RL I got on consignment never has any issues though and is flawless.

Does one have to detail strip a firearm after fully submerging it?

You can afford a bottle of Jim Beam, but resort to eating ramen for dinner? That's prepper food not to be eaten until SHTF
