I don't mean to sound harsh when I ask, but what makes these so special? I don't want to have a safe queen and with these prices I'd be nervous about getting a mark on these. I want to shoot often and I'm looking at the TRP Operator and was wondering what makes the Professional so appealing?sigpic

You should see the finish on one of my other professionals, completely worn off... Its not due to a weak finish(the black-t is VERY durable), its just used and abused.I don't mean to sound harsh when I ask, but what makes these so special? Professional is a very precisely spec'ed gun built by the custom shop from the ground up. Fit/finish/parts are all better than a TRP Operator.I don't mean to sound harsh when I ask, but what makes these so special? The early FBI Pro's had an fbi prefix; now all of them have crg prefix. The people at SCS don't know who the end user will be, civillian or fbi.Yes and no on the FBI and civilian orders.
The FBI pro's are not marked "professional" rather "bureau model"
The Civilian professionals have a Serial number prefix that is "CRG" whereas the FBI is different.
They called me the day it was ready to ship and told me they were charging me. Springfield sets the example in customers relations, polite, prompt and backs the hell out of their products no questions asked!
Welcome to the club; I was fortunate not to have to wait for mine, finding a new one in stock a couple years ago in Sacramento with the help of the Calguns community
I have 15 1911's including several full customs; my Pro shoots as well as any and is dead reliable, zero malfunctions ever."You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"
