i just recently did a private party transfer at target masters west in milpitas with my springfield trp operator. we left the gun locked (through the slide/magwell) only to come back 10 days later to find our paperwork messed up (they lost nessesary records) so we couldnt pick it up, THE WORST PART WAS i found the lock to be CUT off and the GUN USED! i dont know which one of the genius staff members decided to destroy a lock we purchase and use MY gun! im going to be getting in contact with the manager, this is a very expensive gun and i have no idea what kind of abuse these people put it thought while it was in their possesion. BEWARE! NEVER deal with these fools again!

Man, that doesn't sound very professional..if I were you i would make them pay for it.
I will vote for a donkey-sex maniac if he's pro-gun.

F the paperwork, did you receive a cope of the DROS? Tell them to look it up on the computer, otherwise you will be calling DOJ yourself.Comment

Edited to read: You are not being forthcoming about what REALLY happened. You are being less than honest about your role in this and about what you personally observed. I stand behind my comments that had this actually happened the way you suggest it would be serious and worthy of LE attention. But it seems it didn't - your own admission - so in this case I retract my comments as they pertained directly to TM.

They CUT you lock? Thats kinda like stealing something and trying to put it back before someone notices. What the heck did they lose? I can look up handgun DROS for a long while via the computer. Did you get an invoice with the DROS # on it? I know that can look up your DROS by date!
I'd be LIVID to say the least if I found my firearms used!
Next time you want to PPT a nice pistol, I have room in my safe and I wont shoot them if you dont want me tooCrap I hardly shoot all the guns I own let alone someone elses. You'd have to pay me to, but if you ask real nice

I'm glad i saw this post. I was about to purchase a pistol online today and get it transferred there. Not anymore. Definitely complain. You deserve a brand new weapon.
Anybody know of a reliable ffl to transfer to in san jose? (pm me so this thread doesn't get hi-jacked)Comment

Sorry about your troubles. I only bought some parts there once and subsequantly decided I would never trust-em. Too many goofy looking employess, and the manager/owner was also a real piece of work - she thought she was a real "Rambess".The only thing that is worse than an idiot, is someone who argues with one.Comment

I've been to Target Masters plenty of times and this kind of thing doesn't surprise me. Most of the people working there are very unprofessional and look like high school rejects.
Recently, I went to pick up my new Sig and had to seemingly wait forever to pick up the friggin thing. One of the morons working there was going back and forth trying to find it and even needed a co-worker's help. Fortunately, they finally found it and I got the hell out of there.
Was gonna buy a P7M8 from them, but now I'll take my business elsewhere.Barrett 82a1, Serbu BFG-50, M1A Socom, SU-16 CA, Benelli M4 Super 90, Glock 22, Sig 226, Stag-15, HK p7m8Comment

This is really sad! I have been doing business with TM for almost two years and I don't have any complains! However what they did is wrong and there's no excuse for their actions!
"sohijiro" after you talk with TM's manager. Let us know what he said. TM is one of my favorites stores and I really want to know what they have to say! Also, I'm really interested in finding out who took the decision of cutting the lock of your handgun!Comment

I have been going there since 1991 and have seen all kinds of things, good and bad. I think maybe if they made some rules for their employees and made them follow it, things might be a little better.
I like the zip ties they put on guns so customers don't mess with them, the problem is the employess mess with them. Back in 1993 while I was doing the final paper work on a Brand New S&W 686 with one employee, another employee went and got the gun, cut the zip tie off and was playing around behind the counter doing some rapid dry fire. I had no idea it was my peice until he was done.
I have also bought at least one new gun there that did not come with an owners manual or any other paper work.www.culinagrips.com
