    1911 bug

Man :-( I have the 1911 bug now. I don't want a high end one as of now (because I can't afford it) So does anyone have any suggestions on a cheap one that pops when you pull the trigger? Thanks in advance.

When talking about 1911's and saying you want to get a "cheap," that may mean to some people cheap as in the $500 range (RIA, maybe Springfield GI).

However, to other people the words "cheap 1911" may mean less than $1000 (Kimbers, Springfield Loaded, Colts, Sigs, S&W's, etc).

You said you didn't want high end.

High end to me is Les Baer, SV Infinity, Ed Brown, Nighthawk custom, JV Dynamics, any custom builder, etc.

            You know.. $2500-3000 1911.

You can have a Trojan for $1000.

A $1000 dollar pistol is not high end.

What is your specific price range then? If you are saying $0-500 then ya, Rock Island.

At the end of the day, a 1911 is want for you, and not a need, so technically if patient you could save up.

If I was you I would get a used Springfield Loaded for 675-800 or so.

You also have not mentioned anything about caliber.

Rock Island is a good 1911 for the money.

                  How so? Explain yourself.

In the full range of 1911's that can be from 400-$3500, I fail to see how $1000 is some crazy magical out of reach number.

Everything is relative. 3500 could be out of his range, but 1000 might not. He never said how much he had to spend. $1000 = very very nice pistol, but high end? I dunno. If 1000 is high end then what you consider them to be above that?

Your comment with no basis for your reasoning is dumb.

If his budget is 0-500: I covered that, Rock Island.

                      Exactly. Thank you.

With the broad range of costs that you see for 1911's, cheap very well could be 800 bucks or so, depending who you talk to.

                      And used guns are great!

That clears it up. I am sorry I offended the retail personnel. People on forums.....

But yea, for that range, Rock Island all day. You will like it.

www.centerfiresystems.com has good pricing on those.

Call and actually ask to see what they have in stock. They don't update their online inventory count all the time.

Go with the Rock Island Tactical. It will cost you between $500 & $600 and
it will have all the neat custom features and will definitely go bang when you pull the trigger.
