No waiting in NV so it would be driving back and forth Once...

      Not entirely true...
Clark County (Nevada) has a three day waiting period for handguns.
If you have a handgun registered with LVMPD, you are exempt from the waiting period.

I wish I could find it.

But, I remember reading that BATF had arrested several people in AZ from CA for doing this very thing.

        Good luck with your choices.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Post the link. I would be interested in reading the article. So, CA residents had a AZ drivers license and were caught? How did they know?

I can't find it. It was on the BATF website under the Breaking News section but I don't remember how long ago I saw it.

the individual also must have an intention of making a home in that State.
don't know how someone could prove an individual did not 'intend' to make a home there...

If you buy a house in NV and rent it out to someone else I bet they could prove you did not intend on living there.

I will see if there's another shop that can do it all, and maybe I will get myself a new XDM 525.
just go to TableRock Arms, Ryan Rocks. you do not need to have a mag to do a safe handling demonstration. also some FFl's will let you do the test on a similair gun (XD)

Last 2-3 years, CA residents with NV IDs were being busted by the BATFE for acquiring firearms in NV and then bring them to CA.

It's the reason why NV DPS have instructed NV FFL dealers to no longer accept NV Seasonal Resident IDs as valid proof of NV residency and the reason why NV DMV now mails out NV DL/ID to a NV address, instead of letting you walk out with it. Also the reason why NV FFL dealers were instructed to report suspicious buyers with CA license plates on their vehicles.

                              AFAIK...
Last big bust was about 2 years ago, when a NV FFL dealer contacted BATFE about a transfer they just did. Two people showed up with new NV IDs and bought multiple handguns and rifles, then loaded them up in a vehicle with CA license plates. BATFE followed up, the people did not live at the residence on their NV IDs and lived at a residence in CA. Records (4473s) from multiple NV FFL dealers showed they made multiple purchases over the course of a year. After being arrested, both persons admitted to obtaining NV IDs to obtain firearms. One of the persons ended up being a felon, who was using a false identity.

One of the reasons Citadel Gun & Safe, in Las Vegas, lost their FFL was due to letting CA residents take firearms they bought for an extra fee.
