I had to send my Smith and Wesson 1911PD back for a new plunger tube. This is the second time its been in. Granted the first time it went back it was mostly cosmetic, and I could have loc-tited the grip bushing back in myself, but I'm bummed its gone (I'm going to have to use an AR or a Shotgun for HD). Smith's warranty section has been fantastic to work with though.

Yeah i didnt think guns designed to go to war and defend your life could break. Until i had a coupke that broke. And them you're out of the gun for weeks. I also have a SW that i sent back yesterday bc the frame broke in half! Yeah, i couldnt imagine that something like that was possible. hopefully s&w's customer service is as good as ive read on the interwebz. -

Anything mechanically made will and can have problems. The expectation is that what you get should be 100% out the box is not always the case. Which is why you have returns and warranty. It seems they are taking care of you which is nice.
