In this case, 1911. They're more enjoyable to shoot. Glocks are fantastic but if you get bored with a SIG the Glock is gonna end up in the classifieds even faster!

      uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I couldn't make up my mind so I got both. I like the full size 1911. The SA EMP was cool and a totally neat shooter, but I wouldn't pay $1K for it.

lol, that's why you haven't seen 1911 torture test videos like those glock ones. nobody wants to abuse guns that cost twice as much as glocks.

        i don't baby my 1911, but i don't abuse her.

            Poll added.

Also, is the SA Micro the EMP but in .45?

1911 absolutely. The sig covers your home defense. Get a fancy one. Most 700.00 and up 1911's are way to good to go out of the box. Hell even the 400 1911's are. I love my 1911.

is it a gun you are going to stake your life on? if so- I would go with a Glock-

                  if not- 1911's are great.

I know quite a few men that staked their life on a 1911... I am here cause my grandfather had his 1911 and M1 carbine

If soldiers can stake their lives on the 1911, so can I. Everybody always likes to bring up "stake your life on it" as a knock against 1911's. Ridiculous... "oh but they're so complicated"... how often do you detail strip any of your pistols? It follows that one should have a basic understanding of his own firearms. "My Glock works in space/underwater/molten lava and never requires any maintenance/magically points at any home intruders autonomously in the night etc."

For me it would be the Glock. Just tried my first 1911's last weekend and to be honest, they shot better than my Glocks but were not as comfortable to shoot. Grip, trigger goes to the 1911 for sure but felt more recoil then my Glocks (even with the Kimber 1911 in 9mm).

A steel frame will have less recoil than plastic, unless it has a recoil system.

A quick look on the internet shows me only one Dan Wesson Classic Commander for sale and the finish isn't all THAT great. Now it's the only DW I want.
