I hit a clay pigeon in flight once with my Buckmark, and was never able to do it again. Lucky shots happen.

I could make that shot at 100 yards, At 300 yards though you would need to hold pretty high. Not impossible but thats a very difficult shot to make even if you were aiming at the point of impact. Mix in the fact that its a new shooter who has to guess how high to aim, and you probably have a better chance of winning the lottery. It is possible thoughComment

possible
I seen a guy on one of the outdoor shooting shows cowboy style quickdraw on a target at 100 yards."Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

How big was the beer can, it wasn't one of the beer storage tanks like at the Miller plant in Irwindale was it?...LOL. If it is true drive him to the store and buy some lottery tickets and then drive his butt to Vegas.Gun control is a 1" group at 500 yds!Comment

Sure it's possible. It's also possible to make Rosie O'Donnell thin. How likely? About as likely as the situation you posted.Comment

Even at 100 yds, just seeing the can would be pretty darned good! Hitting it would be the proverbial 'shot in the dark'. If it went down, it was likely the wind!Comment

If you interpret this from bravado-BS into English. His girlfriend took him shooting for the first, she handed him a .25 ACP, when the gun went off, he pi**ed himself, dropped the gun, broke the grips, and put a serious scratch in the finish.
Or he hit a beer can at 300 yds on his first shot ever.
