You should get a Les Baer.

I say savage if you have a good range close by. If not kimber! Or save for a Springfield armory.

I would definitely go Kimber. Rifles are real nice and very fun to shoot but they are more cumbersome to carry it and its gear to the shooting spot. So my pistols get more play than my AR.

The Custom II from Kimber is one of those great guns that is very easy to group well with.

The glock.... not so much. If you buy it you will want the trigger of the Kimber and thats practically impossible because of the way both guns work.

So if this is your chance get the Kimber, then the rifle.... and only if you must the glock.

Thanks guys for the help. As for the range and the savage, I have 200 yards to stretch out it's legs.

I already have a 1911 and I love it but that Kimber is nice and 2 1911's is never a bad thing. But then again the ammo is going to be pricey.

              Its a tough call.

200 yds isn't much for a .308. Just slap a scope on your AR.

Actually what you should do is sell that RIA and use the money to buy a high end 1911.

most owners of the RIA swear by the RIA; he might just fall into the majority on this one.

Glocks are great (I own more of those than anything else) but you can always pick one up later on.

I would say get the savage, but if you already have 3 rifles... then yea.

                        Just remember:

This is what I would say but my education was paid cash.

1911 is always nice to have. However, the Savage is an entry level one but will be a shooter nonetheless.

A glock (not a fan) you can get 24/7.

However, in the end, I would get a M700 for $579 after rebate and get a cheap scope for $200 and now you have an excellent set up.

I honestly like my RIA. It's been good and accurate as well as cheap to shoot since it's a 9mm.

And the scope on the AR isn't a bad idea since it's only 200 yards. Hmmmmm

i figured you'd have some loyalty to your RIA.

Since you asked, I'll say get the Kimber. A glock is a glock is a glock. Get one later once your Student Debt is paid off.

If it were me, I might look into something other than a pistol, but as a durable gift, a nice 1911 .45 would be great. You can pass that onto your future kids when THEY graduate!

Remember to dial 1 before 911.

Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

If you can't decide sleep on it until you do. No sense in rushing to judgement. Only you can decide what YOU would like the most
