The first day I ever shot pistols, I also shot a 1911. I'll never forget that.

I probably shot just as well with the 1911 as I usually do with my full time Glocks. The grouping with my first time Gov, and officer model 1911 was flawless I was happy on how I performed with it. In the end, I think if I held and shot a commander size that would be perfect! lastly, with just .45 caliber round the 1911 dominates compared to a Glock .45 and a Sig .45. If I'm going to choose a .45 it would be 1911, but for 9mm I'm sticking with my Glock.
It's always nice to hear a person's first experience with the 1911. It brings back wonderful memories. One thing, though: WTF does boy of girl mean????

Well, I used to work with a manager from Brazil, great guy, but he had some problems with colloquialism's. The phrase "cut and dry" was to him "trim and no wet". "Piece of cake" became "piece of toast".

I'd hazard a guess that "boy of girl" is somewhat like "son of a b....."?

Does anyone ever have a tryst with a 1911 and not fall in love with it?

After shooting my first 1911 I couldnt even handle plastic guns and not feel bad. IDK something about the metal in your hand, the grip angle. It just "fits" me better.

Why would anyone need 10 rounds of .50 caliber anti tank sniper ammunition???"

The second pistol I bought was a Colt 1911.

I shot my friends SA TRP (not sure which model of TRP "Operator" or not). Wow, I must honestly say that I've NEVER shot so well. Now, I'm not blaming the equipment for my crappy shooting, as my G21 and CZ75 are very capable in my friends' hands, but for ME, that TRP was just HELPING ME group better than I ever did before. Then at a later date, I rented the range's 1911 and couldn't hit the side of a barn! It's my shooting, I know. On that day, with that TRP, I was shooting very well! Probaly the nice TRP trigger was masking my flinching or pulling or whatever else I normally do with my own pistols. It was good to know that I COULD shoot better, if I can correct my errors...and the TRP was just very forgiving of whatever it is that I do.

So I think a GOOD 1911 trigger can really cancel out some bad habits as well. I mean the trigger (as someone above mentioned) is pressure...pressure...pressure...pow! My glock is like "take up...take up...take up...pressure ... pow!" So I'm screwing up when I take up the trigger, I think. Or maybe it was over travel... ... man, I really gotta think about that!

Remember to dial 1 before 911.

Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

                There. Are. Four. Lights!

Wait, "boy of girl", who had a baby now? I think it would easier to just say "son"
