I got my 1911 last Feb. (Valentine's present for myself, 'cuz I love me very much) without ever having even shot one.

I did my research, and handled quite a few, but never fired a shot.

I love my 1911. Some people complain about the weight but imo (and since I don't carry) the added weight just makes the gun better. Nothing like holding a solid piece of metal

I do carry and I don't know what the complaint is about weight. I don't have a 1911, but I do carry an all steel CZ. I actually like the extra heft. I like to know that I've got it there. Not to mention the benefit to shooting.

1911's are addictive. I own 3, and want more. Everytime I pick up another type of gun, there is always something I don't like. I don't think I will buy any other gun.

It is easy to get hooked on 1911's they are fun shooters, lots of mods available, and just plain cool. The've kept their popularity for 100 years.

i just plan on buying one ladies and gents. I believe in being proficient in a pistol and not buying many of them. Just the way I am.
