It is not a straw purchase but you break their policies. They are pretty strict on this.

I just picked up my second G17 RTF2 today at Turners for $499. I also picked up a G19 for my wife last week. I like them both, but I prefer the G17 for almost everything. The G19 would be handy if I wanted something just a little smaller, like for my wife.

I also don't like the stock Glock sights, night or regular. I prefer the Warren Tactical sights that I have. Not that the Glock sights don't work, because they do, I just prefer metal sights on my guns for various reasons.

My suggestion would be to get a Glock 17 RTF for $499 at Turners while they have the sale. If you don't like it you can sell it for more than what you paid since it's a RTF model. If you MUST have a G19, I would get the Gen3, slap some decal grips on it, and call it a day. Save the money and take some classes and buy ammo.

I ended up getting a nice used g19 3gen, but will probably buy another gen4 toward the end of the year. I like the smaller grip on the gen4.

                  D none of the above.

Get a cz75. More accurate for more people, more durable, just as if not more reliable. And cheaper.

FYI, I called and found that Black Rifle Gun Shop in Citrus Hieghts does single shots and GSSF discounts. Finding a shop that does both is not easy.

Ya too bad... I don't feel like waiting a year to buy a glock anyways for a discount. I've already had to wait 3... Thanks for the help tho.

I think you're thinking way too hard and missing his point. True, glock 19 are the most popular (by sales) glocks out there. But I would surmise it's because of it's versatility for the "on the fence" would be owner. Buyer doesn't quite know what the main purpose of the gun is. ie CCW, daily carry, range gun, etc so it's a safe bet to get a glock 19 which fits in the middle of the G34, G17, and G26. I have a G34 and G36. I bought the G19 mainly for it's versatility...a happy medium. Had I known it was strictly used for range or CCW...I would have gone with another glock.

It's like buying a hybrid bike. It's not a tough as a mountain bike nor is it faster, more smooth ride than a road bike.

Hah, funny post coming from the same person accusing another member of thread-jacking in the aluminum grips thread (when in fact he wasn't). Nothing personal, just found it humorous because I was just in the other thread before I came in here.

OP: as others have noted, nothing wrong with G19 if it fits your hand the best. I personally shoot the G17/G34 frame better, but my friend shoots the G19 frame better.
