$399 1911 Billboard

Hope this isn't a dup but I was driving west on I-10 through Rialto or Colton when I looked up at one of those electronic billboards. All I was able to read was $399 1911. It changed to the next ad so I didn't catch a make or store. Anybody know anything about this?

Considering I didn't see the make or model I dont know if this is a deal. Maybe I'll try my luck and drive the same route this weekend.

There is a shop in riverside called .... Centerfire .....
I have seen them advertise on those new billboards.
I have never been to the shop, but might be worth a call.

Up in Sac Sacramento Black Rife has RIA 1911s on sale for $399 this week.

I just saw the ad. It's for Cal Arms. Just searched them and they are near Ontario Mills.

Field Trip

OK, guys are you ready to do some shopping?

I went into Cal-Arms today and spoke with David Strait. He's the owner. He's former LEO and also runs a PI firm.

They hold a Type 07 FFL and will do Single Shot Conversions and Transfers. Read my post from the SSE thread:

Good news So. Cal. While reading a different thread this morning I found out about a gun shop in Ontario. The heart of the Inland Empire and pretty easy to get to from LA, Orange and San Diego counties.

Why I am I so excited about them you ask?

Well I want in and spoke with David Strait; the owner, today. They are a Type 07 FFL and will do Single Shot Conversion for people as requested. We didn't get in to any pricing but David assured me that he is very into customer service. And, I did get that feeling from him.

He also said that he would receive Single Shot Exempt guns for transfer if you found one at a different dealer. He is also up on the IntraFamliar transfer and understands that they are roster exempt and would be happy to receive all of your off-roster gifts from your parent/child/grandparent in other states. And, speaking about transfers. He has a very reasonable transfer fee. Only $65.00 and that includes the DROS fee.

David is former LEO and also runs a Private Investigation business.

When you go looking for his shop be sure to look for a business called "Spy Gear". They can't put up any signs at their location about guns so they also run this business from the same location.

OK, So Cal lets go get some guns.

As for the $399 1911 he has it is the Armscor GI model. He said they will be that price for as long as he can get them at a price that he can sell them at that price.

He also has Sig 2022's in 9MM and 40 S&W for $399. And, a S&W 9MM for $359, I don't remember which model.

Very nice guy and a nice family store. Both his wife and son work there too. I would highly recommend paying him a visit.
